With help of our class teacher we were able to make a work shop in

a very short time and this type of work shop encourages us to

become a successful in future. We also thanks full to our course

instructor because while preparing this work shop we have gathered

many practical knowledge which will be very helpful in our future

and classmate who extending their helpful hand during this study.

Finally, I would like to thank you to The University of Asia Pacific to

include this course in Bachelor of Business Administration.

    Executive Summary

Our new Work shop named Rootless people has been analyzed to

rise the development of poor people whose have no shelter in this

earth to live a healthy life. Before that each member of earth finder

was invited to put forward ideas concerning a problem under

consideration. Finally we choose the above one.

While preparing the work shop plan we have adopted several

strategies to meet the goal, to meet potential problems that may

confront and ways to solve them. Here we have included all

elements related to the topic and tried to cover all the aspect of this

    plan.

In our work shop we have discussed about various problems for

rootless, tried to focus the main barrier for standard of living, tried to

find out potential cause and effect relation ship with fish bone and

also tried to provide all possible solution for quality education. To

make our work shop successful we used technical tools such as

statistical process Gantt chart, made population survey of 100

students, set a face to face conversation, and based on their opinion

we tried to take the alternative course of actions.

Here we tried to achieve perfection by continuous improving the

quality through making the process effective, efficient and

    adoptable.

What is rootlessness and why do we need to consider those

who are rootless as well as those who are homeless?

We use the term rootless to describe a state of not having the things

that most people would associate with having a home. For most of

us a home as well as being a physical place that meets certain

physical needs also meets many psychological and emotional

needs. If those needs are not being met we would describe someone

as rootless. We use the term rootless as it expresses the feeling of

having nowhere to belong and nowhere to call home. This state is

usually brought about by a lack of meaningful relationships in life

which causes a sense of emotional and psychological isolation.

In Bangladesh, tens of thousands of people live in overcrowded

slums or public spaces that lack basic facilities, such as safe water,

sanitation, and health services. Bangladesh has experienced one of

the highest urban population growth rates (around 7%) in the last

three decades compared to a national population growth rate of

    about 1.5% per year.

A study in Bangladesh in 2005 defined the homeless as people who

sleep on streets, railway terminals and platforms, bus-stations, parks

and open spaces, religious centers, construction sites, around

graveyards, and in other public spaces with no roof.

    Introduction

It is our pleasure and also according to the requirement of course

instructors Jesmin Sultana to submit this work shop on a topic. Before the topic selection, we form a group named Earth Finder

with a facilitator Jesmin Sultana as well as a leader Mosharof Hossain

Khan. After giving a big thought about it we choose a topic Life of

Rootless people which is very important factor to develop our

    society.

Back ground of the term paper

Before the mid term, we were asked by our Total Quality

Management course instructor Jesmin Sultana to submit a work shop

on a topic. As a result, the whole idea came from the course Total

Quality Management and the course code is IMG (403). After that,

we went thought brainstorming process and it is our pleasure to let

you know that, we choose topic called Life of Rootless people

    Source of data

Sources of data are an important factor for thiswork shop. Without the data collection, we will

not be able to develop the work shop. Theobjectives of data collection are:

    Primary source/research

    Secondary source/ research

Primary ResearchWe directly collected the data from the field. Here, we attach onesurvey reports, where we directly talk University. In this research, wecan use three methods. These are:

    Telephone Survey

    Personal Interview

    Mail survey

    Telephone Survey

We can collect the data by usingtelephone that refers totelephone survey. We have someadvantage and disadvantagehere.

We can collect the informationvery easily. We can get quickresponds here. Questions arevery easy to understand. We cannot see the person by whom weare talking. The interview time islimited and expansive

  • 7/28/2019 tqm report32

    12/61

    Personal Interview

If we directly go to the person and talk to

them and prepared the survey report, thatis referring to personal interview. Theyalways give more time then the telephonesurvey. It is very expensive

Sometimes it is very heard to get anappointment to that interviewer Questionmust be prepared early. We can get quickresponds. We can ask question afterquestion here. The responds rate is lowhere.

    Secondary Research

The information, which is already use by some other organizationthat is referred to secondary research. Here, we collect littleinformation from different place like:

    Internet

    Newspaper Article

    Amrao Pari NGO

    Sajeda Foundation

    Social Welfare Institute

    Poverty Estimation Project

    Methodology of the work shop

Methodology of this report includes study of different files, circularsrelated to the same industries, face to face discussion with differentpeople and so on. While preparing the work shop we have to do thesurvey on the various occupational people. We collect informationfrom various Ngo, government project and some specialist on socialfactor as secondary source.

    Limitation of the work shop

While we were preparing this workshop we face some limitations. These are mentioned below

As we are introducing the work

shop for the 1st time, so theassumption we have made for itmight not accurate.

Life of rootless people is bigproblem of our country, soanalyzing and solution processneeds so time where time is solimited.

While preparing the work shop we

had to face various shortinformation inaccuracies.

Class schedule was clash, while wewere preparing this work shop.

We did not have a place, where we

can sit and work in a group.

We dont get sufficient help from

    Government sector.

    Establish a quality policy

Here you need to go for quality plan or the policy and that must be

implemented so that we can get the quality product.

    TQM Objectives

The objectives are to produce quality product. Here top& bottommanagement needs to work together to reach to the objectives

    Prepare quality improvement program

Here we need to talk about the storing the problem. So we need tohave a important program. Here QC people will try to solve it. Herethey will sit together to solve the problem and produce good qualityproduct. Here they have to sure that problem does not come onceagain once we can do it. That is the success of the team. it is theasset of the organization.

    Define responsibilities

Here we will talk about the total number of work and their duties and

responsibilities. We also need to tell every one who will do what andby whom they will report.

    Establish quality system

System is a process that will be followed by the employee to makethe quality product. Here one more thing we need to mention that is everything shouldbe written for easy understanding.

    Identify problem areas

We need to identify the errors and problem and try to solve it. As aresult we can produce good quality product. If we cannot solve theproblem then other problem will come and we will se full of problem. Then it will be very difficult for us to solve the problem.

  • 7/28/2019 tqm report32

    24/61

    Implement program

The program is made for quality improvement that has to apply thatto produce good quality product.

    Monitor progress

This is one of the main objects of the QC circle and it is a continuousprocess of the organization. Here we need to monitor every thingtime to time so that we can set quality product.

    Audit & Review effectiveness

To get quality product we have to audit and review it effectively. Ifany kind of problem arises we need to give quick responds to it. Sothat it does not consume to truck.

    Poor Economic Condition

During religious festivals, many rural poor from nearby districts

migrate to the city and live temporarily as homeless to take

advantage of increased seasonal charitable donations. However, the

main reason for migration into the city is economic as many migrate

permanently from rural areas to seek employment lack of money, no

    Population Problem

Globally, more people now live in urban areas than in rural areas.Over the past few decades, most low-income countries haveexperienced a rapid population growth without adequate expansionof public services, and many cities in the developing world lack theinfrastructure necessary to support high levels of urban populationgrowth. As a result, globally, more than one billion people live ininformal settlements or urban slums. Many others live where they

can--at railway terminals and bus-stations, at ports, and in emptymarkets, parks, and stairways.

    Lack of government initiatives

The Government needs to take the lead in addressing the largerissues of structural inequalities and the absence of human rights, such as rights to food, shelter, and education, which contribute to

the social milieu of violence in the lives of the homeless. Unawareness

    Non-Cooperation

    How rootlessness affect our society

A rootless person means who has no physical, mental and

psychology shelter and no home. Rootlessness is a big problem of

our society. It affects very badly our social value. Affects are

    Increase Drug addiction.

    Destroy public property.

    Environment Pollution.

    Increase unethical activities.

    Increasing AIDS.

    Decrease social value.

    Increase criminilism (murder, hijacking, theft).

Use children as a medium of transferring drug, bombs etc.

How can we solve the problem

We are the people who can save our country as well as our people. It

is said that in economy poor is born as poor. But if it is occurred

forever we can remove the poverty curse and can not lead a

prosperous life. To remove rootlessness, governments contribution

needs more because it is a huge problem, no single NGO or private

organization cant do it lonely. But in reality NGO or private

organizations contribution is more than government. So we expect

that government will come forward to help these helpless people.
