SEMOI 1

The competition will be run according to current ISF and BWF rules under the direction of the ISF

Technical Commission.

Specific ISF regulations are:

1.  The competition is open both to school teams and selected teams. In both boys and girls

categories a country must have entered a school team before being allowed to enter a selected

team in the same category.

There will be a competition organised in the following categories:

  school teams, boys,

  school teams, girls,

  selected teams, boys,

  selected teams, girls.

2.  All players of the school team must have been enrolled the same school since the beginning

of the school year.

3.  All players of the selected team must have been enrolled at a school in the country concerned

since the beginning of the school year.

4.  All players must be 15, 16, 17 or 18 years old. Neither older nor younger players will be

accepted!

5.  Each team shall be composed of 4 or 5 players and 1 teacher. Each country which enters 1 or 2

teams must provide one umpire. Countries entering 3 or 4 teams must provide two umpires.All umpires shall be in possession of a national (highest level) or international qualification.

6.  Players must be enrolled as full-time students at the school which they represent. They must be

attending schools which provide a general education.

The following are not eligible to participate:

a.  pupils of vocational schools who only attend that school as a complement to their

vocational training,

b.  school teams and pupils enrolled at schools which provide sports training without any

general education,c.  part-time (e.g. afternoon) sports schools which take pupils from a variety of schools for

training in one or more sports,

d.  teams formed as part of clubs, companies, universities or other institutions.

7.  Each participating team must be nominated officially by the organisation responsible for school

sport and which is member of ISF.

8.  Only players, registered on the team’s list handed in at the accreditation, are authorized to take

part in this competition.

10. System of the competition :

a.  The competition system starts with groups followed by knockout stage.Teams will be placed in preliminary groups of at least 3 teams.

b.  The team competition is organized as a tournament. Each tie consists of two doubles

matches and three single matches.

c.  Each team must arrive at the competition consisting at least 4 and at the most 5 players.

Except in exceptional circumstances a team arriving for accreditation with only three

players will be removed from the classification. Exceptional circumstances will be

decided by the Technical Commission ISF Badminton and the ISF Delegate.

In case of an injury during the tournament resulting in a shortage of team players, the

team will concede the second double match.

A player injured during the doubles may not be replaced by the spare player for the

singles during that tie.

d.  All matches will be played with shuttlecocks that comply with BWF regulations.

e.  There will be a racquet stringer at the sites (to be paid).

f.  The system of play will depend upon the final number of entries in the championship.

The length of the matches may be shortened in the event if a large number of teamsentering.

g.  Each team shall consist out of 4 or 5 players and they will play 5 matches in each tie.

School team members must be entered in the order of their official ranking/strength

confirmed at accreditation (from 1 to 4/5).

Selected team members can be entered in a free ranking order.

h.  The school team coach is free to change his team for each new tie provided he respects

the order of entry. The order of play will be :

Double 1: the highest ranked of the 4 double players + one other

Double 2: the other two players.

Single n° 2

Single n° 3

The selected team coach is totally free to change his team for each new tie. The order of

play will be:

Double 1 : 2 players – free to choose *

Double 2 : 2 players – free to choose *

Single n° 1 – free to choose

Single n° 2 – free to choose

Single n° 3 – free to choose

* ( 4 different players will play in the doubles matches).

Each participant will receive a commemorative certificate. The teams finishing first, second and

third will rewarded with medals and trophies.

The ISF Fair Play Trophy will be awarded to a delegation by the Disciplinary Commission following

consultation with the Technical Commission ISF, the Organizing Committee and the delegations.
