Schindler 400A reduces the needfor a machine room and consumesless vertical and horizontal space inyour building.* Its small, easy-accesscontroller cabinet and lightweight, compact machine permit morerentable building space.

Thanks to low headroom require-ments, Schindler 400A requires littleor no roof penetration.

This can mean flat and usable roofs, and unprecedented design freedom.Add it all up and Schindler 400Areally measures up.

Three Space-Saving Machine Room Options

• Machine Room Less (MRL) — A small closet for the compactcontroller cabinet replaces theconventional machine room.Located at the front of the hoist-way at the top floor, normally the space requires no roof penetration.

• Optional alternate control spacelocations around perimeter ofhoistway at the top landing are available.

• Machine Room Side (MRS) — A mini-machine room locatedalongside the hoistway on thetop floor can be provided tohouse the controller cabinet andprovide access to the governor.

• Optional two level machine roomavailable.

• Machine Room Above (MRA) —A conventional machine roomlocated on the roof directly overthe hoistway is available if preferred. While it houses thecontroller cabinet and providesaccess to the motor and governor, its footprint is no bigger than thehoistway itself.

• Traditional concrete slab oroptional machine beam or rail mounting of equipment isavailable.
