Of the 100,000 Show visitors each year, close to 30% come from outside Christchurch.
Demographically, the highest percentage of Show visitors fall into the lucrative ‘middle aged’ category with close to 40% aged 35–54 years.
Over 70% of Show visitors attend as a family group. Last year’s attendance figures were 17,500 on Wednesday, 30,500 on Thursday and 69,000 on Friday.
Over 60% of visitors spend 5+ hours at the Show with 56% of visitors indicating that they attended the previous year’s Show.
We exhibited for the first time in 2012 and so thoroughly enjoyed our experience that we will be back next year. The Show team were a pleasure to deal with; nothing was a problem which made exhibiting so easy. Rural TV was not there to directly sell to the public; instead it was to demonstrate our unique offering which lead to great networking. We were strategically placed by the Eukanuba Dog Trials which was excellent for us as we had the real ‘rural’ folk around us which is our target market.
Sarah Perriam, CEO, Rural TV.
