One of many traditions in Romania is caroling. Children announce the great holiday of Christmas through beautiful songs. They go caroling until midnight. The carolers wear bags in which they put the gifts offered by the hosts, this ensuring them good luck and wealth. The traditional gift for carolers is bread, a symbol of wealth.

The Christmas tree is a fir tree, natural or made of plastic,

which is decorated with glass bells, lights, wreath and candles. It is usually decorated on Christmas Eve. The

following day, children open the presents left under it by Santa Claus.
