Synopsis tráfico is an character driven dramaNc narraNve about the dark and invisible side of human trafficking within the United States of America. The story is set in a small central Jersey town, just twenty-‐-‐-‐miles from New York City, in the heart of one of the busiest transportaNon corridors in the world. tráfico is told through the lives of the women and children who are bought, sold, and forced to serve in the sex trade, the pimps, johns, and criminals responsible, and those dedicated to the trades end game. The characters’ lives interweave, their worlds collide, and ulNmately crash into each other exposing the darker side of human nature.
What makes tráfico different from other movies and series? tráfico is an American acNon crime drama. It stands out from other web series because unlike other series on the Internet this deals with a serious social issue: human trafficking. ▪ It is a social realist film, because of how it deals with a real life situaNon, which obviously
needs to be addressed.
▪ This series is inspired from real life events and newspaper arNcles. This gives the series more credibility compared to other shows.
▪ It subscribes to an indie filmmaking model but adds a griby realism that creates new and original content for audiences.
▪ The realist, documentary-‐-‐-‐like style, which might normally dominate social conscience films that try to elicit sympathy and acNvity from the audience, is well balanced by moments of more innovaNve and stylized cinematography.
