As Young Life’s only national family camp property, Trail West has two objectives: To create a place for families to experience the love of Christ together, and to let our guests learn more about the ministry of Young Life around the world.

Each day is filled with programming that involves the whole family, with the sole purpose of bringing you together in playful activities. And at night, your family will attend “Club” which includes music, songs, mixers, skits and a short, relevant message of God’s love for us, expressed through His Son, Jesus Christ. The message is given in a clear and winsome way, so kids and adults alike can appreciate, understand and enjoy it.

By removing the distractions from back home, and bringing your family to the majestic Rocky Mountains of Colorado, with their breath- taking views and extraordinary wildlife, you’ll be taking a significant step toward creating a closer knit family. From the natural surround-ings, to the activities we’ve designed to amuse, enthuse and thrill our guests, both you and your kids will have the time of your lives!

Our Kids Klub Wranglers have one goal: To give your kids the best week of their lives! Your child will participate in a variety of activities, including nature hikes, “gold” panning, swimming, trout fishing, crafts, pony rides, a visit to a real, live working ranch, and much more. Plus, they’ll join you in many other activities like Rocky Mountain High Day, Rodeo Round-Up Day, River Day, High Country Day and Wild Frontier Day.

While our theme is western, our housing is deluxe. With hotel-like accommodations, our lodge rooms are configured to suit your particular needs. If your family requires more space, we also have condos and chalets, at an additional cost, that are a stone’s throw away from the lodge so you won’t miss out on any of the activities in and around the main building.

Young Life began when a young seminary graduate living in Gainesville, Texas was burdened by the unchurched kids he saw at the local school. He decided to reach out to them with the Good News that God loved them, in a way that would be relevant to them and their culture.

That man, Jim Rayburn, started a weekly club with just 10 kids, who were mostly disinterested in God and church. Songs, skits and a simple talk about Jesus Christ were the staple. Thus, the “Young Life Campaign” was born. And it wasn’t long before hundreds of kids were feeding on the Living Word of Jesus Christ—and enjoying it! In the words of Jim Rayburn, “It’s a sin to bore a kid with the Gospel.”
