Welcome to the 2017-2018 edition of the training and development programme offered by the Early Years Support Team.
Our training programme is designed to support practitioners in Leicester City who work with children in the Early Years Foundation Stage in schools and in settings within the private, voluntary and independent sector.
Our training framework (see below) is based on the Talk Matters! and Communication Trust training frameworks. Most of our training is at the universal level and we offer Speech and Language Support for 0-3s (ELKLAN), the Setting-based SENCO Training, Fun Time, Play Interaction for Young Children and Understanding and Supporting Young Children who have Challenging Behaviour at an enhanced level.
We are committed to supporting the learning of all practitioners to enable them to meet the individual needs of children in their settings. Our training modules support the development of the Common Core of Skills and Knowledge for the children’s workforce and also the Key Elements of Effective Practice (KEEP).
Our training modules are regularly reviewed and improved, particularly in the light of participant evaluations. We welcome your comments and suggestions on our programme as well as any offers to help develop new modules.
