THE BRAKSPEAR TRAINING DIARY 2016

All our training courses are free for any Brakspear tenants or les sees , and any managers, head bar st aff , head chefs or st aff members working in those pubs. Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment. Whilst some courses are scheduled to run once, we are happy to re-run the course if there is demand for it.

Please contact Gill at Brakspear on 01491 570214 or [email protected] to secure your place or if you have any sugges tions for courses you’d like to att end.

As mentioned all courses are free but there is a charge of £75 per person if you don’t att end, or fail to let Gill know by 5pm the Th ursday before the course takes place. you can subst itute someone else from the pub to att end. Please note, subst itutions cannot be made on the wine courses .

Anyone who signs up for a training course will be asked for their mobile phone number. Th is is so we can text details of the course directly. Th e mobile number will not be used for any other purposes , and won’t be passed onto any third part ies . It ’ s just our way of trying to improve communication.

CHALKBOARDING MADE EASYTh is course is des igned for absolute beginners when it comes to writing on chalkboards. Th e day will consist of some theory of where to place boards, what to write on them, how to produce pictures (if being used) and how to use “ power ” and “ sizzle ” words eff ectively. Most ly, however, the day will consist of delegates practising their new skills and producing a fantast ic board to take back to your pub.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE ASSESSMENT?A Cask Marque assessor will make two unannounced visits to your pub four weeks apart. They will introduce themselves and sample up to six cask beers on sale for temperature, appearance, aroma and taste. If all beers pass both visits you will gain the accreditation.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF ACCREDITATION? The Cask Marque plaque tells customers you are serious about cask beer Unlimited point of sale materials FREE Your pub will appear on the Cask Finder app, used by 85,000 people each month to find pubs Appear on the website and free sat nav download 88% of accredited licensees increased cask sales after being accredited 98% of licensees would recommend the scheme to other licensees
