Participant Qualifications & Prerequisites: Inexperienced 1st year staff members. Description: Improve your skiing and riding while observing the “Teaching Cycle” and “Teaching Model” put to life in a 3.5hr lesson. Then debrief the experience while exploring the soft skills that make a great instructor. Brief introduction to the Movement Pools. Paid/Non-Paid; WC/No WC: Paid/WC Objectives: Individual skiing/riding assessment with feedback. Debrief and discussion around the “Teaching Model” and the “Teaching Cycle” and begin to be familiar with the Movement Pools. Each participant will come away with a completed EMA card. Duration: 6.5 hours

Description: Discover progressions and appropriate terrain for developing the skills needed to enhance turning control and increase mobility and confidence in Green Zone skiers.

Objectives: Participants will come away with appropriate progressions and

be introduced to appropriate terrain for Level 3 skiers and the skills needed to move from the lower mountain to the upper mountain. Further explore the Teaching Model while developing tactics for parts 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7 of the Teaching Cycle. Emphasize the importance of “Practice”. Participants will have the ability to move the group while other attendees are assigned a portion presentation look for and discuss.

Description: Participants will have the opportunity to move the group through a teaching presentation surrounding one the Milestones from L1 to L5. During each presentation the other participants will be assigned a portion of the Lesson to watch and briefly discuss. Paid/Non-Paid; WC/No WC: Paid/WC Objectives: Participants will be provided an opportunity to engage their peers in an assigned teach and will be provided feedback on their presentation and a recommended zone to work in. Title: “Privates/Small groups and the other Side” Participant Qualifications & Prerequisites: Inexperienced 1st year staff members. Description Attendees will explore more terrain and develop a basic

understanding of Private lesson meeting locations and the basic logistics of working in the Kids or Adults program. As a group work through different teaching scenarios aimed to develop tactics for working with private lesson and small group guests while exploring the appropriate available terrain.

Paid/Non-Paid; WC/No WC: Paid/WC Objectives: Attendees will come away with a working understanding and tactics for meeting the needs of adults, children, small group and private lesson guests. Participants will work through scenarios to explore and develop tactics and deepen understanding. Duration: 6.5 hours
