    It is a system sed to control railway traffic safely, essentially to prevent trains from

    colliding" 6eing gided #y fi8ed rails, trains are ni:ely sscepti#le to collisionBfrthermore, trains cannot stop :ic+ly, and fre:ently operate at speeds that do not ena#le

    them to stop within sighting distance of the driver"
