TRANSCRIPT: LISTENING SECTION UN SMK 2013

Listening SectionIn this section of the test, you will have the chance to show how well you understand spoken English.

There are four parts to this section, with special directions for each part.

Part I. Pictures

Questions: 1 to 3

Directions: For each question, there is a picture in your test book and four short statements about it on

the tape. They are spoken twice and are not written out on your test book, so you must listen carefully.

You m ust choose one statement A, B, C, or D t hat best describes the picture. Then, on your answer sheet,

mark your choice.

Example

Look at t he following picture!

Now listen to the foll owing statements

A. The girl is standing near the field

B. The boys are working in the field

C. The child ren are playing a game

D.The boy is holding the ballChoice (C) The childr en are playing a game best describes what is seen in t he picture. Therefore, you

should mark (C) on your answer sheet.

Part II. Questions Responses

Questions: 4 to 6

Directions: In this part of the test, you will hear several questions spoken in English, followed by three

responses, also spoken in English. The questi on and responses will be spoken t wice. They will not be

printed in your test book, so you must listen carefully to understand what the speakers say. You have to

choose the best response to each question

Questions: 7 to 10

Directions: In this part of the test, you will hear several short conversations. You will hear the

conversations twice. The conversations will not be printed in your test book, so you must listen carefully

to understand what the speakers say.In your test book, you will read a question about each conversation. The question will be followed by four

answers. You have to choose the best answer to each questi on and mark it on your answer sheet.

Man : Do you cook dinner every night?

Woman : Certainly. And what do you like to do after going back home?

C. Their duty in the off ice

D. Their work activities

Choice (A) Their activit ies aft er work is the best answer to the questi on What are they talking about ?

Therefore, you should mark (A) on your answer sheet.

Woman: Im afraid you cant because our machine isnt working today.

Man: It s okey. Ill pay it in cash

Man: What are you talking about? I thought you like it here

Woman: I used t o but this is t he second tim e I havent got promoti on. I just don t und erstand why the

director chose another person. I am tir ed of t his.

Part IV. Short Talks

Questions 11 to 15

Directions: In this part of the test, you will hear several short talks. Each will be spoken twice. They will not

be printed in your test book, so you must listen carefully to understand and remember what is said.

In your test book, you will read two or more questions about each short talk. Each question will be

followed by four answers. You have to choose the best answer to each question and mark it on your

answer sheet.

Questions 11 t o 13 refers to the foll owing procedure

To use your m illigr am tape recorder, foll ow this easy instruction.First, put the tape in the machine then push the play button

Next, adjust the volume. To record with your new tape recorder, just push the record butt on.

Then speak int o the m icrophone. Push the rewind butt on to rewind the tape

Next, push play to listen to your recording.

Now read question number 11 and answer it
