to apply to, I had a definite attraction to Accounting programs with small class sizes. Some universities had up to 800 students in their Accounting programs. I definitely feel that my academic success at Nipissing can be attributed to smaller classes (there were 13 in my Accounting class), and more individualized attention from professors.”

We offer the following important information to help you with the transfer application process.

ADMISSION WITH ADVANCED STANDING OR TRANSFER CREDIT

Applicants deemed eligible for admission with advanced standing or transfer credit must submit recently-dated official transcripts of their academic record directly to the Office of the Registrar. An academic calendar from their former institution(s) containing descriptions of the completed courses may be required. Those applicants who are eligible for advanced standing or transfer credits will be notified of their eligibility.

The application of advanced standing or transfer credits to a degree program will vary depending on the degree program and major to which the applicant is admitted.

Changing degree programs or majors may mean a loss of or change to the credits awarded. Nipissing University degree residency requirements will apply.

OFF-CAMPUS LIVINGocl.nipissingu.ca

Our off-campus living site is an excellent resource with searchable lists of available accommodations, listings, maps, and year-round housing information for North Bay and Muskoka students and landlords. Also on the site are notes on how to inspect your potential new digs, tips for renters that address your personal safety needs, and features to look for in the search for your apartment or house. Quick links to the Hydro Home Assistance Program, the Landlord and Tenant Board, and the Residential Tenancies Act can also be found.

If you are still left with questions or concerns, the Off-Campus Living office provides assistance with landlord/tenant issues and community outreach. For more information call (705) 474-3450 ext. 4242 or email: [email protected]

RESIDENCE LIVINGTransfer students may apply to live in residence and will be considered based on space availability. Our residences are rated the finest and most modern in Canada. Both the North Bay and Muskoka Campuses have residence options where studying, socializing, living independently, meeting new friends and making your own choices will provide opportunities for many

great experiences. In addition, you will have the added comfort of a room of your own.

The North Bay Campus has suite-style and townhouse-style accommodations, while the Muskoka Campus offers a new suite-style residence. The residence staff, in conjunction with Residents’ Councils, organizes a variety of fun events to suit all interests such as group dinners and potluck suppers, skating parties, the winter carnival, athletic events, movie nights and coffee houses.

“ I transferred from Canadore College to Nipissing University. I was taking the three-year Advanced College Diploma when I decided to transfer to Nipissing to finish an Honours Degree in Business Administration. It was a great experience for me and I would recommend it to other students.”
