In a proposed joint venture with our Queen’s Wharf Brisbane partners Hong Kong-based Chow Tai Fook Enterprises and Far East Consortium, planning has now commenced for a potential new 200 metre hotel tower which would house approximately 700 hotel rooms and apartments.

Pending various approvals and the execution of final joint venture agreements, the large-scale development has the potential to increase our overall accommodation supply to almost 1400 rooms, allowing us to maximise tourism opportunities and deliver even more jobs and greater economic growth for the South-East Queensland region.

It is envisaged the new tower would enable us to offer guests a multitude of accommodation options, including a 4.5-star hotel and apartment tower, in addition to the existing upgraded 5-star hotel and our new luxurious all-suite tower which promises to deliver on 6-star quality and service.

As part of our ongoing transformation, we are also considering the development of a live sports

theatre which would provide a unique offering of live entertainment and event activations.

The sporting attraction would hold appeal to local and visiting sports enthusiasts and include an array of food and beverage options, as well as live entertainment and screens broadcasting sports from around the world.

Together with the existing hotel refurbishment and 6-star all-suite tower where works are already underway, the proposed additions have the potential to generate more than 1000 construction jobs in total and could see our workforce increase to around 2300 employees as part of ongoing operations.

The recent announcement comes in addition to the $345 million we had previously committed to the refurbishment of the existing hotel and construction of our 6-star all-suite tower. If approved, the total investment under consideration has the potential to reach around $850 million, signifying the long-term growth potential for the region.

In partnership with the City of Gold Coast, we recently announced our plans to deliver a canal-front parkland development for the Broadbeach community.

Located on the corner of the Gold Coast Highway and T E Peters Drive, the $1 million beautification project will bring to life an area that has been underutilised for many years and provide improved connectivity for locals and tourists alike.

The prominent park redevelopment is expected to start in December 2017 and reopen in time for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, featuring new paths, open spaces, feature lighting, pavilions and the prominent Moreton Bay figs that reside there today.

In the meantime, we will repurpose the land to house the site office and equipment for the construction of our new six-star all-suite tower.

Last month we launched Garden Kitchen & Bar with an exclusive celebration on the venue’s spacious outdoor deck.

The early-evening affair exuded coastal elegance as guests enjoyed a breathtaking display of nature and design; the sun glistening through the trees as it descended below the horizon, transforming the unique space into a hub of sophistication and style.

“Locals and visitors are going to love this indoor/outdoor vibe – this is what

living on the Gold Coast and visiting the Gold Coast is all about.”

Tom Williams, TV and Radio Presenter

Australia’s favourite couple Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich, The Daily Edition’s Tom Williams, Channel [V]’s Carissa Walford and popular lifestyle and fashion bloggers Tash Sefton and Elle Ferguson from They All Hate Us were just a few of the celebrities spotted at the event, which featured a captivating acoustic performance by chart topping duo Matt Prince and Jess Dunbar.
