—Brief introduction of OIP bushingsand Features
—Our company
ABB has more than 100 years history of bushing
manufacture technology up to now, and has
developed into one of the key market leaders
providing a comprehensive range of high voltage
bushings and high grade service to meet the
demands of all applications. Oil-impregnated
paper (OIP) bushings of the ABB group have a long
and successful history, especially on extra and
ultra high voltage levels wher e service experience
and mature technology is most crucial. In 2008,
ABB 1100 kV OIP condenser bushings were
successfully used in China’s first UHV 1000 kV
project line, Jindongnan-Nanyang-Jingmen. As the
world’s largest bushing manufacturer, ABB group
owns bushing manufacturing units located all
around the world, including Sweden, Switzerland,
Russia, America, Brazil, India and China.
ABB Hefei Transformer Co., Ltd was the first
power transformer joint venture set up by the ABB
group in China in 1992 with the total investment
up to 30 million USD. It became a wholly owned
company by ABB in May, 2005 with more than 400
employees. At present, the company is organized
into two product groups: Product Group Insulation
& Components and Distribution transformers.
ABB Hefei Product Group Insulation & Components
(PGIC) is an independent unit of ABB Hefei
Transformer Co., Ltd, and a manufacture and
supply centre in China and Asia-Pacific region,
established by ABB group to serve the local
market.
Our main products are: On-load tap-changer,
Transformer bushings (RIP, OIP), Oil treatment
plants, Measurement and safety devices. Among
them, On-load Tap-changers, OIP Bushings were
technique transferred and authorized by ABB
Insulation and Components in Sweden. RIP Dry-
type Bushings and Oil treatment plants were
technique transferred and authorized by ABB
(Micafil) Co., Ltd in Switzerland.
As one of the most comprehensive range of
transformer components production and supply
center of ABB group, ABB Hefei PGIC has become
one of the main suppliers providing high quality
transformer components in both domestic and
overseas market.
ABB Hefei Product Group Insulation & Components
(PGIC), belongs to ABB Hefei transformer Co., Ltd
introduced advanced technique and production
echnologies of OIP bushings from ABB
Components, Sweden in 2007, including design,
equipment, production processes, core materials,
test equipment etc. Localized parts are tested and
approved by ABB’s material test laboratory in
Sweden. The performance of bushings produced
by Hefei is equal to bushings produced by ABB
Components in Sweden, completely satisfying
requirements from the Chinese market.

�Excellent sealing structure, oil and heat resistant
gaskets with -40°C brittleness point.
�Strict quality and process control to verify the
tightness of all parts individually, as well as the
complete system during the final testing, no
sign of leakage is allowed.
�An adequate press force on the sealing structure
assures permanent sealing during all service
conditions.

GOE features
A set of concentric tubes are pre stressed and
serve as springs which hold the main bushing
components together and provide adequate
pressure on the gaskets in all expected
temperature and load conditions.
The annular space formed between the tubes
makes an efficient cooling duct for dissipation of
the heat, thus improving the current-carrying
capacity and thermal stability of the bushing.
The bushing is designed to be mounted at an
angle of up to 30° to 60° from the vertical. A higher
inclination can be obtained on request. The
current shall be reduced for horizontal mounting
and up to 15°from horizontal.
The top housing is made of aluminum alloy and
has expansion space for the oil, sufficient for
temperature variations in the bushing between -
40°C and +80°C. Variations in the length of the
centre tube and the housing are compensated by a
flexible connection inside the top housing.
The upper insulator on bushings GOE 1050 and
larger are equipped with retaining rings mounted
with stainless steel details.

Shed profile
The shed profile for all GOE bushings is of the anti-
fog type with alternating long and short sheds.
The shed profile is designed according to IEC
60815.For each pair of sheds, the ratio between
nominal creepage distance and the axial length is
4.0. This shed profile is developed and tested
specially for heavy
pollution.

—Bushing on-line monitor and adapter
GOE bushings are designed with voltage tap, TOB and TOM
bushings are designed with test tap, both can be used for
online bushing monitoring.
The voltage tap can be used for measurement of partial
discharge, dissipation factor, and capacitance values. It can
also provide a voltage source while the bushing is in
operation. The max. power-frequency voltage withstand test
with tap to earth is 20 kV, one minute, 50 Hz.
If needed, customer can select TOB(2)/TOM bushings with
specially designed voltage tap. These kind of bushings have
C1 conducting layer and C2 conducting layer in condenser
core. The voltage tap is internally connected to C1 conducting
layer whereas the C2 conducting layer is permanently
connected to mounting flange. Under online bushing
monitoring, C2 conducting layer is always grounded via
earthed mounting flange.
