Edgecore Networks provides a choice of open source software distributions from leading open network communities. The open source software options allow networks to be deployed on entirely open NOS software platforms, or provide an open source platform for network operators, integrators, and ISVs to develop value-add switch plug-ins and applications. Edgecore Networks are active members of the OpenSwitch, OCP and ONF open software communities. The following open source software options are vailable on Edgecore Networks open switches.

OpenSwitch. A completely open-source and full function NOS launched in October 2015. Accton is a charter member of the OpenSwitch community working with HP and other members to optimize OpenSwitch functions on open switches.

Open Network Foundation’s (ONF’s) Atrium open-source SDN Distribution. The Atrium distribution provides a BGP routing application based on Quagga, running over the ONOS OpenFlow SDN controller, and programming the Edgecore Networks AS5712-54X and AS6712-32X open network switches.

Open Network Linux (ONL). ONL is the OCP-approved reference NOS, and runs on all Edgecore Networks open switches, providing a platform for OpenFlow and other forwarding agents and for value-added switch software development.

OCP Switch Abstraction Interface (SAI). The OCP-standard abstraction interface facilitates the porting of NOS software to switch hardware based on switch ASICs from different silicon vendors. The Edgecore Networks AS7500-32X 100G open switch supports SAI.

The RPS900W is a Redundant Power Supply that protects your network against unforeseen events by supplying power to devices the instant they begin to fail and increases reliability for converged data, voice, and video networks. Each RPS900W supplies a maximum capacity of 900 Watts to four switches, making it ideally suited to support a number of Edgecore switches.

Thermal overload protection that prevents the RPS from overheating.

A powerful embedded network operation system, EdgeCOSTM, designed by Edgecore’s in-house development team, is preloaded on Edgecore Ethernet switch product series. While the ECView Pro network management system’s friendly user interface is designed to manage Edgecore and third-party network devices in an easy and powerful way.

EdgeCOSTM, Edgecore’s Ethernet switch operating system platform reduces the time necessary to deploy new services and decreases network operation costs, offering a secure user interface for developing applications that create more value from the network.

ECview ProTM, the network management system meets current and future technology challenges with business practically. It provides a single point to manage the entire enterprise network, together with an unlimited and customizable reporting capability.

Dashboard ToolECView Platform and Note SystemThe Dashboard view is user customizable and can display the reports or URL´s of the administrator´s choice. It also has a user-definable refresh timer, so the information update process can be controlled. Auto Power Adjustment When two installed APs are too close and the output power in too large with overlapping situation, these APs will decrease the output power automatically. On the other hand, if these two installed APs are too far that some area can´t be covered, then the APs will increase output power automatically to solve this problem.

Heat MapUsing “heat map” the coverage area, the interface areas between channels, density of RF, and area without coverages must be displayed.
