FIJI TV LIMITED • Fiji Television Limited is a locally owned Television Broadcaster in Fiji

and started its operation with humble beginnings in 1994.

• Fiji TV is a listed company on the South Pacific Stock Exchange since 1996.

• Fiji TV’s first free-to-air service, Fiji One, airs both international and locally produced content from a wide genre covering news, sports, entertainment, music, talk back shows and comedy shows.

• In 2016, Fiji Tv launched its second channel 2. to cater for the untapped youth audience of today.

• The head office for the company is located in Suva, Fiji.

TRANSITION - INTRODUCTION• Walesi: Fiji’s Digital Terrestrial TV Service;

• Broadcast over UHF spectrum;

• 1st Aug 2016: Public trial started in Suva/ Nausori corridor;

• Official Walesi STB & Subsidy Scheme

• Wider selection of channels on Walesi for viewers.

TRANSITION - UPGRADE

• Upgrade of equipment from Standard Definition (SD) to High Definition (HD).

• Introduction of new channel:• TV Broadcasters given 2 channels each on Walesi;• Channel 2: Target Audience – untapped youth & Gen Z;• Content: Entertainment, Lifestyle and Comedy;• #moretocomehome2

• Content is key on the “Walesi” in Fiji:• There are only 3 TV Broadcasters;• Same content from the 3 TV Broadcasters airing at the same time

is likely (for example HSBC 7s Rugby).

• STB is required by customers to view the signal, where as for analogue only antenna is required.
