The location of the lesions in the oral cavity is most often found that 66% on lips and as much as 90% occur on the bottom lip. Lesions like Actinic Cheilitis, Angular Cheilitis and Cracked Lip commonly caused by a nutrient deficiency, weather changes, exposure to sunlight, microbial infection, and also using of tobacco. Some of the ways that have been developed to prevent and healing the lesions on the lips like lipstick, lipbalm, topical drug, and systemic drug still causes side effects. It takes a new innovation in efforts towards preventive and rehabilitative lesions on the lips. This literature review aimed to assess innovation Gelidium Lip Mask (GELI MASK) as a therapy in lesions on the lips. Gelidium spp. has been widely manufactured in Indonesia from either natural preparations or from aquaculture. The compositions of the Gelidium spp. are vitamin A, B1, B12, C, D and E, iron, fibre, and so on. Gelidium spp. also have benefits as an antifungal, antibacterial, and antiviral that potentially can used as therapy in lesions on the lips. GELI Mask is shaped lip gel mask containing a seaweed extracts with origin Gelidium spp. GELI Mask can be applied for about 10 to 15 minutes on the lips that have been cleaned up so that it can be earned a maximum therapeutic results. Based on the analysis above, it can be concluded that GELI Mask can be used as a supporting therapy in lesions of lips.
