Riverside Transmission Reliability Project (RTRP)
RTRP - a second connection to the state electric transmission grid
RTRP consists of: A) 230 kV Transmission Line
Travels through City of Riverside, City of Norco, Riverside County, and City of Jurupa Valley
B) 230-69 kV Substations Two stations adjacent to each other in the City of
Riverside C) 69 kV Subtransmission Lines
Entirely within the City of Riverside
RTRP Project Costs
Original Estimate: $150 - $185M
Riverside portion - Substation and 69kV Grid: Approximately 75% of the project
SCE portion – Substation and Transmission Lines: Approximately 25% of the project

Riverside Transmission Reliability Project (RTRP)
Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) out for public comment Aug-2011 to Nov-2011
More than 100 commenters provided comments
City Planning Commission reviewed DEIR in Apr-2012, found it consistent with CEQA, and recommended item to City Council for approval
Also in April-2012, County’s Airport Land Use Commission found project to be consistent with County’s land use plan
Regional Conservation Authority review is underway – favorable Joint Project Ruling sought prior to City Council’s consideration
Final Environmental Impact Report nearly complete – targeting 12/4/2012 City Council meeting
Estimated Total Project Cost estimated at $171 million (Power Engineers Phase 1 Report, Sep-2006)
