Yanira Collado, Born Dominican Republic, lives and works in Miami, FL. Collado Artist Residency fellowships include the African Heritage Cultural Center 2011-2012 and Bridge Red Art Center 2013-present, both in Miami, FL. She has exhibited nationally and internationally including New York, Chicago, Miami and Berlin. Yanira Collado was awarded first place in the 2013 South Florida Biennial at the Hollywood Art & Cultural Center. In 2015 Collado’s had a one person exhibit at Farside Gallery and included in group show inscribing: meditations on time and space at Bridge Red, Miami, FL. She has also participated in the prestigious Project Row Houses as part of the summer visiting artist program that included a site specific installation. Yanira Collado’s work will be featured in various forthcoming

exhibitions; Dirt at Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, FL African Heritage Cultural Center, Miami, FL and Nova University, Fort Lauderdale, FL; 2016.

Juana Valdes’ born in Cabañas, Pinar Del Rio, Cuba. Lives/works Miami and Massachusetts. Education BFA Parson School of Design (1991), MFA, School of Visual Arts (1993). Valde’s works range from sculptural installations to hand- crafted works of fabric, photography, and video. Her work balances a combination of atmospheric storytelling and insistent feminist inquiry, brought to life through a thread of rural mysticism. Artist grants and fellowships including the New York Foundation for the Arts, Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, Joan Mitchell Grant, Cuban Artist Fund Grant and The Netherland-American Foundation. Juana Valdes has participated in the following Artist residencies; The European Ceramic Work Center in the Netherlands (2012), the Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning (2009), the Smack Mellon Studio Program (2004), P.S.1 International Studio Residency Program (1998) and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture (1995). Recent group exhibitions include Third Space: Inventing the Impossible, Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami, MIA_BER, Galerie Verein Berliner Kunstler 2014. Individual exhibitions include Haarlem/Harlem, Transported illusions, Begane Grond Kunstcentrum, Utrecht, netherlands (2000); Past/ Present Tense, Jamaica Center for the Arts & Learning, NY (2009); An Inherent View of the World, Mindy Solomon Gallery, Miami, FL (2015).

Onajide Shabaka, Born in Ohio, lives and works in Miami, Florida. Shabaka’s art practice is concerned with historical/biographical themes related to geography that include African diaspora and Native American cultures. He studied at The San Francisco Art Institute and received his MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts. Onajide Shabaka has participated in various international art residencies. Most recently Cuernavaca, Mexico and Everglades National Park, Florida. Recent exhibitions include Abracadabra, Art & Cultural Center of Hollywood (2015); Third Space; Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami, FL, MIA/BER, Galerie Verein Berliner Kunstler, Germany (2014), Unpunished, Sue Scott Gallery, New York (2011); DCG Open, David Castillo Gallery, Miami, FL (2010). Individual exhibitions include Nierika Pasajes y Entradas, Under the Bridge, North Miami, Fl (2015); Zeichnangen ind Wandabjekte, Galerie Schuster, Postdam, Germany (2012); Lake Superior Walk, North Shore, Grand Marais, Minnesota (2007). Forthcoming exhibitions include group shows (Art Basel) at Bridge Red Art Center, Miami, FL (2015) and move something’: metaphysics of space & time, Under the Bridge Space, North Miami, FL (2016).

William Cordova is an interdisciplinary cultural practitioner born in Lima, Peru and living in Miami/New York City. Cordova’s work addresses the metaphysics of space and time and how objects change and perception changes when we move around in space. Cordova received a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago,1996 and an MFA from Yale University, 2004. He has been in residence at The Studio Museum in Harlem, The Museum of Fine Arts Houston, MacDowell Artist Colony, Artpace and Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, among others. He has exhibited in the US, Latin America, Europe and Asia. His work is in the public collection at the Whitney Museum of American Art, Guggenheim Museum, New York, NY, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, the Yale Art Gallery, New Haven, CT, Museo de Arte de Lima, Lima, Peru, Ellipse Foundation, Cascais, Portugal, Museum of Contemporary Art, Miami, FL, La Casa de las Americas, Havana, Cuba among others. Cordova was represented in the Museum of Modern Art/PS1 Greater New York exhibition, an overview presentation of contemporary artists whose contributions to the arts have had a significant influence in society. In 2011 Cordova was invited for his first one person museum exhibition in Europe, yawar mallku: royalty, abductions y exiles at La Conservera, Murcia, Spain and also awarded the Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant. In 2013 he was nominated and participated in the prestigious American Academy in Berlin Fellowship. Cordova was

recently included in Prospect.3 New Orleans Biennial; 2014. 2015 includes a one person show at 80M2 Gallery in Lima, Peru; Casa de Africa in Cuba, Havana, Cuba during the 12th Havana Biennial, fellowships at Harold Washington College, Chicago, Project Row Houses, Houston, TX. Screened in concert with transmissions: algoritmos, polyrhythms, karuraqmi puririnay at The Franklin, La Vista: mamihlapinatapai is a video art program concerned with the vibrant encounter between the beholder and what is looked upon. The video is testimony of a meeting between the camera and it’s

subject, wherein zoetic force inevitably manifests through the reciprocation of the gaze. The exchange is rooted in recognition and an inability to communicate properly, thus this paradox becomes a playful pas de deux, an attempt to say what is unsayable but mutually understood.

Michelle Nonó

Puerto Rican artist Michelle Nonó artistically interests span emancipatory education, political theater, and local food and alternative medicine practices. Along with her sister, Nonó is part of Las Nietas de Nonó, a performance collective that also organizes an alternative art and community space called Patio Taller in their grandfather's old house. Patio Taller has a performance space, garden, educational programming, a DIY artist residency and an open door policy for neighbors, who share everything from gardening duties to responsibilities caring for chickens and a communal horse they acquired as shared transport.
