Este curso pretende transmitir el estado de la cuestión en la evaluación de proyectos de transporte, incorporando los resultados de investigación y las aplicaciones prácticas en Europa. La evaluación de inversiones es, junto con la generación de alternativas que respondan de forma sistemática a un conjunto de objetivos coherentes, un nudo gordiano de expresión del rigor en la planificación de las infraestructuras del transporte. En el entorno económico actual, cada vez será más importante priorizar inversiones con beneficios sociales por un mínimo uso o con óptima relación coste/eficacia, para así poder mejorar la gestión de los recursos públicos. El instructor del curso es el prestigioso profesor Chris Nash de la Universidad de Leeds, que posee una larga experiencia en investigación, aplicaciones prácticas y asesoría a instituciones internacionales en el tema. Prof. CHRIS NASH Breve historial:

- Catedrático de Economía del Transporte (Institute for Transport Studies, University of Leeds, UK)

- Experto en política ferroviaria y tarifación de la infraestructura del transporte.

- Asesor de varios organismos nacionales e internacionales (High Level Group on Transport

Infrastructure Charging de la CE, Europe Committee of the House of Lords, Transport Committee of the House of Commons, Railways Group de la CEMT, etc.).

- Autor de más de 100 libros y artículos en los journals internacionales más prestigiosos en Transporte.
