Moved by M. Goudsblom, seconded by B. Friesen, that the minutes of the Transportation Advisory Committee meeting held June 20, 2016, be adopted. TAC034-2016 CARRIED.

BUSINESS OUT OF MINUTES .1 2016 Abbotsford Traffic Calming Program Update A PowerPoint presentation was provided by the Traffic Engineer regarding the 2016 Abbotsford Traffic Calming Program Update for the McKinley Drive/Sandy Hill Road and Guilford Drive projects.
Moved by B. Friesen, seconded by E. Garry, that the PowerPoint Presentation from the Traffic Engineer, regarding 2016 Abbotsford Traffic Calming Program Update, be received; and Engineering Department staff prepare a report seeking Council’s approval for the McKinley Drive/Sandy Hill Road and Guilford Drive traffic calming projects.

.3 South Poplar Elementary School Traffic Safety Improvement Update A PowerPoint presentation was provided by the Traffic Engineer regarding South Poplar Elementary School Traffic Safety Improvement Update.
Moved by E. Garry, seconded by B. Friesen, that the PowerPoint Presentation from the Traffic Engineer, regarding South Poplar Elementary School Traffic Safety Improvement Update, be received; and Engineering Department staff continue to monitor the situation for any changes and work with the Abbotsford School District, ICBC, parents and other road users to improve traffic safety.

Mt Lehman Rd Widening Project Update
Project Location
– Mt Lehman Rd between Great Northern Ave to YXX Project Scope:
– Widen the Road to 4 lane urban cross section from north of Simpson Rd to Airport (YXX)- approx. 1.8 km
– Provide additional southbound lane with urban cross section between Great Northern Ave and Simpson Rd.
– Provide dual southbound LT lanes at Simpson Rd. – Close Mt Lehman Rd (west leg) with cul-de-sac. – Provide intersection improvements for the Peardonville Rd leg and
realign Marshall Rd Extension leg tie-in to the future Marshall Road Connector.
– Provide southbound drop and northbound merge lanes at the tie-in to the airport.
– Install a traffic signal at Mt Lehman Rd and Marshall Rd
