Diagnosis Of Bus IssuesFleet Maintenance would like to inform you of some simple things you can try doing before contacting the service department for various issues you may be experiencing on your bus. We’ve identified some of the top issues and the possible resolve that you can try on your own. CLICK HERE for a complete listing of these and other reminders.

News From The LCPS Maintenance TeamThe shop is extremely busy! We closed out 3,000 repair orders in the first 2 months of 2019. While the team appreciates that drivers would like to know how long their regular bus may be in the shop, we do ask that drivers refrain from walking in or calling for updates. Frequent interruptions interfere with staff’s ability to perform their roles quickly and effectively. You will be notified by the team once your vehicle is ready.

We have observed some buses being reversed into the wash bay at Central Garage. Please pull buses into the wash bay with the front of the bus facing in.Buses should not be reversed in due to safety & equipment damage concerns.

Due to concerns regarding mold growth, buses should not be washed out with hoses. Using a hose can leave moisture in the bus. This is what mold thrives on. Please use a bucket and mop when cleaning buses.

We have had a couple of close calls caused by people driving buses or personal vehicles the wrong way around the parking lot at Central. This type of incident is 100% preventable when traffic direction is obeyed. Please do not drive around the cones, follow the traffic direction arrows when entering the C gate. You will have very little defense should you be involved in an accident when driving the wrong way around the parking lot at Central, VSC or any school property!

Temporary Bus Parking LanesThere are 5 temporary bus parking lanes, marked by a sign, on the A row at the garage to the left just as you enter the C gate. These spaces are for drivers that need to quickly run into the office. We hope that this will help clear up the congestion in the back of building A.

General Information

Way to make a bus ride fun AleksanderMy son is a Kindergartener at Goshen Post, and his bus driver is an excellent asset to your team! He is always friendly and joking around with my son (who is a bit of a handful) in a way that makes his bus ride fun. I can tell that the driver (Alexander?) takes his job seriously, because you can see how he is always looking out for the safety of the students, and enforcing the rules like checking the kindergarteners tags. He has made my son’s first year of public school just a bit better with his enthusiastic start and end to each day.

Nice Work Wendy Marsten! MOTHER WOULD LIKE TO GIVE MANY THANKS TO DRIVER FOR THE CONCERN OF HER SONS ALLERGIC REACTION ON THE BUS AND TO INFORM THE DAYCARE WHERE HE GETS DROPPED OFF SHE REALLY APPRECIATES ALL THE EFFORTS MADE FOR HER SONS SAFETY.

Mr.Walter, You Are A “Favorite Bus Driver”Hi Not sure if this is the right form to use but we want to recognize our bus driver Mr. Walter on bus 319 that picks up my daughter for Sycolin Creek at Dinah and Blackbranch pkwy. Mr. Walter is always on time and never late. With how traffic is in our area I have no idea how he does it but on rainy days like today we really appreciate it. He’s also been gone maybe 3 times this whole school year. He also knows all our kids by name which makes the kid’s mornings a little brighter with a warm welcome by name. He is well loved by all the kids and we truly appreciate him always being on time and there to pick up or drop off our kids. Mr. Walter is our neighborhood’s favorite bus driver!!

Way To Be A Great Bus Driver Ms. SavannahI just wanted to give a huge shout out to Ms. Savannah, our bus driver. We are so lucky to have her as our driver--she is cheerful, friendly and so kind. She knows all the kids by name and genuinely greets them both off and on the bus. My son is in kindergarten and he loves riding the bus. Savannah is also timely and safe; I feel confident sending my son (and all of our neighborhood kids) with her. I wanted to take the opportunity to share this, as she deserves kudos and praise for a job well done every single day of the school week!

Mahesh Pathirana You Made Our DayWe had a substitute driver for 1816 from Catoctin today. And I just wanted him to know that he totally made my kids’ day. They’ve been saying “quack quack waddle waddle” and giggling all afternoon! They really adored him.

Happy Retirement Debbie CherbonneauxAfter 24 years of dedicated service to LCPS, Debbie Cherbonneaux, East Area Supervisor, will be retiring this month. The Transportation Division, and especially the Operations team wish her all the best in her retirement at the beach!
