    3.Placeyourfrontandbackdressrightsidestogether,matchingupshoulderseams.

    PinandsewONEshoulderseam.Pressseamopen.

    4.Wewillnowbeaddingourbiastapefacingtotheneckline.

  • 2.Fliponefrontpatternover,sothatthewrongsideisfacingup,andmatchupthefoldlineinthecenter.

    Tapetogetheratthecenter,givingyouonewholefrontpatternpiece.

    3.Usingyourrotarycutter,Cutanarcdownthefrontpattern.

    Startingatthelowerhalfofthefrontarmsyce,curvingtowardsthefrontneckline(about1belowneckline),continuedowntothehem.

    4.Now,usingyourrotaryscissorsagain,takethepiecethatyoujustcutawayfromthefrontbodice(thepiecewithouttheneckline),andcutanotherarcfromthetopgoingdownintheoppositedirection.

    Itshouldlooklikeagiantcurvedtriangleinthemiddle.Letstitlethese3piecesasFront1,Front2,andFront3.Thiswillmakeiteasiertoexplaininthefollowingsteps.

  • 5.OntheFront3patternpiece,atthenecklinewhereFront1touches,draw2connectinglinesfromFront1totheneckline.

    Ishadedtheareagreyonthephototoyourrightforeasiervisibility.

    Wewillbeusingthisasanadditionalpatternpiece.

    6.Placeapieceofpaperontopofyourdrawnpiece(theshadedgreyarea),andusingamarkercopyaroundthedrawnlines.

    Dothistwice,andcutoutbothpatternpieces.

    7.Take(1)ofyournewcutpatternshapes,andtapeittothetoprightcornerofFront1.(Theshadedgreypieceontheimagetoyourright).

    8.Takeyourothernewcutpatternpiece,andplaceitonthetoprightcornerofFront2.

    YoushouldnowhaveyourtwotabscomingoutofthetopofbothpatternpiecesFront1&Front2.

  • Hereiswhatyour3FrontPatternpiecesshouldalllooklikeasofnow.Theseareallrightsidesup.Pleasepayattentioninthenextstep,aswewillbeflippingoneofthem.
