VERTICAL VIDEOQuick Production Tips
Once scorned by professional producers, vertical video is gaining in popularity –including with advertisers.
Videos produced in standard (16:9) format are less engaging on mobile than videos that fill the full screen.
Today’s flagship smartphones shoot high-quality vertical video, but capturing steady shots and quality audio can be challenging. Consider these tips to compensate.
1. Professional video gear can be turned on its side to shoot vertically, allowing for cinematic picture and sound.
2. Make sure auxiliary video monitors are configured for vertical shots as well.
3. Custom camera rigs can shoot multiple formats and angles simultaneously.
4. Multiple angles do allow for maximum flexibility in the edit bay. However, it’s best to stick with either vertical or horizontal framing for an entire project.
