The luxurious resorts of Grupo Mayan, located along the azure seas of Mexico, will go the extra mile to meet your every need while you are our guests.

If, while a guest at one of our resorts, a medical emergency should arise we will arrange for you to receive the best medical care possible

Many of our guests take tours off of Grupo Mayan property while staying with us. There are many local attractions and surrounding villages you will enjoy visiting.

To make your tours as safe and pleasant as possible, Grupo Mayan suggest that you bring a pre-packed travelers health kit stocked with items you may need if an emergency occurs.

A pre-packed health kit will serve two purposes.

It will allow you to continue to treat any ongoing problems you have and will have the necessary supplies to take care of any problems that happen while off of the Grupo Mayan property.

May commercial health kits are available at drug stores and sporting goods stores.

These kits range from basic to advanced which will provide for more severe emergencies. It is also easy to assemble one at home. You will want to include items specific to your needs.

Here are a few suggestions from Grupo Mayan on general items you will always want to include.

Prescription medication: These should be in their original bottles with labels attached for customs inspection.

If you suffer from diabetes, there are many pre-packaged diabetic emergency kits on the market. Grupo Mayan highly recommends for all diabetics to have an emergency kit with them at all times.

Over the counter anti-diarrheal medication.

Antihistamine.

Cough suppressant

Throat lozenges

Antacids

Antifungal and antibacterial creams

Hydrocortisone cream

Insect repellant.

Epinephrine auto injector. An Epipen is a must if you have a history of severe allergic reactions.

Sunscreen with a 15 SPF or higher

Aloe gel for sunburns

Basic first aid items such as band-aids, antiseptic, tweezers, etc.)

Antibacterial wipes or hand sanitizers

Water purification tablets. The water at all Grupo Mayan resorts is safe for consumption. When you are off property Grupo Mayan suggest you take care with local water.

There are several other items you might wish to include depending on your medical history. Check with your doctor to see if these are appropriate for you and to get prescriptions.

A mils sedative or sleeping aid.

Anti-anxiety medication. This helps may people who have a debilitating fear of flying.

If you plan on touring in any of Mexico´s mountainous areas you might want to include medicine that prevents nausea at high altitudes

The Grupo Mayan staff will gladly provide you with a list of local medical facilities for

the areas you will be touring.

Grupo Mayan does not foresee any medical emergencies arising during your

stay with us. It is always better to be prepared for any circumstances that come

up. With a basic health kit you will be ready for any small accidents that occur.
