This workflow can be used for any occasion when a travel plan needs to be submitted.
Please Note: JIDS is a forms management system. Form must be completed in the system. Forms that requires an outside signature will additionally need to be printed off and scanned in.
ICJO = Interstate Compact for Juveniles Office JPO = Juvenile Parole or Probation Officer JPS = Juvenile Parole or Probation Supervisor
Travel Plan Process Step 1: Initiate the Workflow
1. The Home/Demanding/Sending State user searches for the juvenile file in JIDS and opens the web viewer by clicking on “View”.NOTE: Users should not enter a new juvenile file to send a travel plan for an existing case.
Click the “View” on the Search Results page or File Details page to open the file in the web viewer.
If a JPS or JPO is not initiating the workflow, the ICJO will complete this
step.
2. In the web viewer, select the+ icon, and then select “Generate Form” and “Form.”

3. Select “Travel Plan.”

4. The web viewer reloads and the form appears. Fill out the Final Travel Plan and click “Save.” If the return is via air and includes a layover state, enter that information in the Layover State fields. This is how JIDS tracks air surveillance stats. The web viewer will reload when the form saves.
The document appears in the web viewer when it
uploads.
Fill out the form and click “Save”
5. To submit the Travel Plan to the Home/Demanding/Sending State ICJO, click the icon, then select , and select “Travel Plan”

6. Enter notes for the Home/Demanding/Sending State compact office, if desired. Select “OK” to continue.
Entering notes is optional at this step. Select “OK”
The “Document(s) routed successfully” message will appear. Select “OK”
The Travel Plan is now at the Home/Demanding/Sending State ICJO for review. You may close the web viewer.
The Sending State ICJO will forward the Travel Plan to the Receiving State ICJO.
Travel Plan Process Step 2: Travel Plan Submission
1. The Home/Demanding/Sending State compact office receives an email notification for the Travel Plan. The juvenile’s file appears in the
Global Assignments page for review.
Click the “View Document” icon to open the case in the web viewer.
2. The Home/Demanding/Sending State ICJO reviews the Final Travel Plan and selects the green arrow icon below the Form X to “Send Final Travel Plan.” Entering notes for the Holding/Receiving State ICJO is optional. Select “Save” to continue.

The Travel Plan is now at the Holding/Receiving State ICJO. You may close the web viewer.
Travel Plan Process Step 3: Travel Plan
1. The Holding/Receiving State ICJO receives an email notification for the Travel Plan. The juvenile’s file appears in the Global Assignments page for review.
Click the “View
Document” icon to open the case in the web viewer.
2. The Holding/Receiving State ICJO reviews the Travel Plan and selects the orange “Travel Plan Received” icon to complete workflow.
Click the orange “Travel Plan
Received” icon
3. Click “OK”
The “Document(s) routed successfully” message will appear. Select “OK”
Travel Plan Workflow is complete
