TOUR PROGRAM
Day 1: Luang Prabang Arrival
Arrive in Luang Prabang, the ancient capital of Lane Xang kingdom, the center of religious life in Laos
and today a World Heritage City. Transfer to your hotel for check in. Free time on or climb Phousi
Hill, the 328 steps leads to the summit of Phousi hill that dominates the sky-line of Luang Prabang
offering the finest panoramic view of the town. .Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day 2: Luang Prabang
Today is dedicated to explore ancient city of Luang Prabang. We begin our visits to Wat Xiengthong,
the 16th century temple; the National Museum, the former Royal Palace which houses the collection
of valuables including the famous Prabang Buddha statue, gifts received from foreign dignitaries;
The Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre, a museum dedicated to the collection, preservation, and
interpretation of the traditional arts and lifestyles of the country’s many and diverse ethnic groups.
Late afternoon, strolling to experience fabulous daily night market in town. Overnight in Luang
Prabang (B)
Day 3: Luang Prabang – Pak Ou Cave
Early morning, a fantastic opportunity to witness the daily morning ritual of Buddhist monks,
collecting Alms offered by the faithful residents. After breakfast, we take a boat ride for a few hours
upstream on the Mekong to visit Pak Ou Caves in the side of a lime stone cliff and opposite of the
mouth of the Mekong and Ou rivers. The sanctuaries at Pak Ou consist of two large caves, both
repositories for thousands of Buddha images, which range from mere centimeter to two meters in
height.En route, visit some Lao typical villages including Ban Muangkeo, a well-known village for Lao
traditional rice whisky, or Laoh-Khao, to see it being distilled. Lunch is at a riverside
restaurant. Afternoon,sail downstream back to Luang Prabang, option to stop at Ban Xangkhong, a
village well-known for its bark paper-making and also Lao silk weavings with natural dyes. From there
we take a short drive by road to town. Overnight in Luang Prabang (B, L)
Day 4: Luang Prabang – Elephant Riding and Kuangsi Waterfall
Morning, we depart by road for a short drive to Elephant Camp, where we wiil enjoy a one hour
elephant safari. After wandering through verdant rain forests there is the unique experience of
feeding your elephant with bananas as a way to say thank you for the ride. After lunch, we go by
road visit Kuangsi Waterfall, which, though not very high, is spectacular with its lush green
surroundings as a preserved National Park. En route, we stop to visit Ban Na Oune, a small village
of ethnic Hmong, probably the best-known minority group in Laos. Overnight in Luang Prabang (B, L).
Day 5: Luang Prabang – Departure
Breakfast, at leisure for your own activities before transferring to Luang Prabang airport for
departure flight home or to next destination (B).
