Have you asked yourself how you can help him or her with art skills even if you are not artistically inclined yourself? Have you considered sending your child for special art instruction?There are lots of ways you can encourage your child without any talent of your own. Building Confidence through SwimDuring the first few years of life, a child goes through many stages of physical development like learning to move independently. A system of balance against gravity, with coordinated movement of limbs, is developed. As parents we don’t teach a baby to walk as much as we guide and support them while the learning unfolds.

As a child’s land skills are being developed we can also provide the opportunity for them to learn to “move in water”. The same type of development is needed for a child to thrive; moving around safely yet independently in the water.

The beginning stages of development include becoming familiar with water balance, floating in the front and back positions, submersion and breath control.

The water provides a lack of gravity and opens up a new world to children of all ages. Without the restrictions of gravity, a swimmer is capable of unrestricted movement, which enhances muscle development, balance and coordination as well as reinforces the brain/body connection. The goal is to have children safe and free of stress underwater, at the earliest age possible using a gradual pace geared to the development stage of each child.
