Section 1: We will be making a short film in which is approximately five minutes long and is also of the mystery/horror genre, we are planning to target people from the age of thirteen to eighteen, aswe feel they would be most likely to understand the typicality of a traditional horror film. We alsofeel it wouldnt be relevant to target the younger generation as there would be a inevitable lack of interest and level of understanding. The goal/intended purpose of the film it is expected to buildsome form of tension, but however mystify the audience, the lead genre is supposedly mystery asthe audience should be guessing as to whom our killer is, however there is an element of violence .

Section 2: Who? Within our film there is supposed to be two or more different suspects of who iscommitting a series of murders, the first character introduced is displayed to provide the audiencewith suspicion that it is him, however through different twists we learn it is someone else.

What? The plot within the film circles around a series of suspicious killings within a group of friendsand parents, some take it seriously, others laugh.

Where? It is based around a group of school friends and a neighbourhood.

When? It all occurs over the period of around one week.

How? Suspicion of a killer grows and clues are revealed as to who it is.

Why? A long hatred for some people is the reason for killing and is a form of revenge.

Section 3: Collectively we have created a mind map regarding ideas as to how we will make the filmand we have surveyed the advantages and disadvantages of many different ideas, starting withgenre, we decided certain genres such as comedy will be more difficult to make. However the keytheme throughout our film is similar to that of the horror series scream where there is a killer whois revealed at the end, we will also include typical horror extras such as slow music to build tensionand other effects of the camera to shift the audiences perception of certain characters, for exampleat the beginning of the film there is a man on a train, his face is not revealed. We will use close upsof the words raincoat killer and then show that the man is wearing a rain coat, this is set out rather

basic, but the audience may then believe he is a killer and it turns out he is not for good reason.

Section 4: The two people working on this project will be Me Craig Fanning and Taylor Allbut, myrole within this consists of developing the main story (the plot) I will also decide how we are going tofilm the different elements of the film and where we will locate our film. Taylors role will be to filmthe project considering the different camera shots and techniques we can use to create a bettereffect. We will both work together in creating the music on garage band. By sharing roles, we splitthe work evenly and can work to our own advantages. Our film is based on horror films in particularthe insane. Originally we had decided to create a film in which would relate to the drama genre, however we decided against this when weighing up the pros and cons of each genre i.e cost,

    difficulty etc.

Section 5: We predict that the film will be fairly cheap to create and produce, as we already havesome necessary props and costumes, also our idea does not include too many special effects, inwhich would cost us time as well. The most expensive part will be paying for train/bus fares to filmone of the scenes, we will be paying for the costs ourselves and so our expenses will not be toogreat. As our project is likely to be filmed in the late afternoon due to the light levels we are going tofilm those scenes last as it will be nearer to winter and will be darker earlier, the shots on thebus/train need to be filmed when it is only slightly dark and so we can still see clearly what ishappening, and it is not too light otherwise we would lose effect.
