Adjustable to various belt widths and types

Trellex Belt Conductor is easily adjusted to suit variousbelt widths. The medium duty model is suitable for beltwidths between 500 and 1200 mm (20" and 48"). Forwider belts an extra long axle must be used. Our BeltConductor can be installed on most types of belts. Thesensitivity can easily be altered by changing the anglebetween control arms.

Trellex Medium Duty Belt Conductor

A centered belt is one precondition if the sealing sys-tem at the loading point is to work effectively. Reducingspillage increases revenue and provides a better workenvironment. The Belt Conductor is mounted on thereturn run of the belt and provides active restraint andconstant control of the belt. This avoids damage to theedge of the belt and important parts of the frame. Theedge rollers of the Belt Conductor sense any mistrackingof the belt and the control roller centers the belt. Elimi-nated risk of pinching, combined with minimal friction,result in a virtually maintenance-free solution.

A belt entering the tail pulley, centered, leaves it centered! Thecentering of a belt moving on the return side of a conveyor is easierdue to the lower belt tension. This is why the Trellex Belt Conductoris installed on the return part of the conveyor, ahead of the tailpulley. This position ensures that the belt is centered whenreaching the loading point. This is very important to avoidproblems with mistracking due to off-center loading. The BeltConductor is an active guiding system keeping the belt

automatically and continuously centered. Guide rollers aremounted to control arms which sense lateral movement of thebelt and adjust the steering roller to guide the belt back on track.Mistracking is automatically corrected by a minor adjustment ofthe steering roller angle. This eliminates belt edge damage, whichfrequently occurs when high force systems with fixed guide rollersare used.

Trellex Heavy Duty Belt Conductor

This is based on the same basic design as the mediumduty model but more robust for heavier applications. TheHeavy Duty Belt Conductor is suitable for steel cord beltsand for belt speeds of more than 3.5 m/s. The larger thebelt and the higher the speed, the more quickly dam-age occurs and the higher the costs become. The HeavyDuty Belt Conductor provides great savings in the formof reduced wear and tear on the belt, rollers and con-veyor frame. It also increases availability by reducingthe risk of unplanned down time. Like the other models,it is easy to assemble and is practically maintenance-free.

Solving chronic manintenance problems

The greatest problems with mistracking belts normallyappear on reversing conveyors. Most methods used onconveyors running in one direction only do not workwell in this situation. In fact the result might be the op-posite when belt direction switches. The Belt Conduc-tor takes care of a constantly recurring maintenanceproblem, reduces operating costs and increases con-veyor availability.

Mistracking belts cause damage to the belt edge, rollersand the conveyor frame. By reducing the belts’ lateralmovement the risk of damage is reduced and overalloperating economy is improved.

Aligned belts boost profitability

The best evidence of how well the Trellex Belt Conduc-tor works is found at the tail pulley. Because the beltmoves from side to side, the pulley surface becomes"polished" in a sense. After the Belt Conductor has beeninstalled, belt mistracking has been reduced and rust willform within a couple of weeks.

The compact design makes it possible to install the Reversible Belt Conductor even on conveyors where space is limited.

The Reversible Belt Conductor is mounted on top of the belt onthe return run. The steering roller should be installed on the samelevel as the rest of the return rollers to achieve correct contactpressure. units may be required. Pairs of edge rollers detect the slightestdeviation from the ideal belt path. The linkage on either side tiltsthe Belt Conductor and the steering roller pushes the belt edgedown, creating a force aimed towards the center-line of the beltthat guides it back on track.

Metso has developed a Belt Conductor that is very easyto install. The Belt Conductor is designed to handle wellunder tough conditions. The Belt Conductor is adjust-able for a wide variety of belt widths up to 1200 mm(48”). For wider belts the only thing needed is a coupleof longer axles.

Lubrication system

Maintenance is important. It is especially important inthe tough environment where these products are used.That is why we have developed a lubrication system forthe Belt Conductor. It makes maintenance a lot easier,extends the useful wear life and secures the function.Installation is simple. The kit comes complete withnipples, grease filled hoses and a block that should belocated in an easily accessable location on the conveyorframe. By installing the lube kit, the work environment,as well as safety conditions are greatly improved. At thesame time, the lubrication process is simplified.

Guide Roller snap-on sleeves

Trellex guide roller sleeves are made of our wear-resis-tant ESA78 polyurethane material, providing a longservice life. Wear on the shell of the roller is eliminatedand the life of the roller is extended. Damage to the beltedge due to worn through edge rollers can be avoided.The sleeves have a snap-on fixing, making installationsimple and quick.

Steering roller with Trellex Roller Sleeve

Trellex Roller Sleeve is an elastic rubber sleeve that is re-commended for use with the Belt Conductor steeringroller. The correction of the belt path is achieved by tilt-ing the steering roller.To get maximum steering effect the roller should havea rubber coating to get the highest possible coefficientof friction. The elasticity of the rubber counteracts thebuild-up of material on the roller thus preventing mis-alignment. The rubber also protects the roller againstcorrosion and wear, lengthening the service life andreducing the risk of damage to the belt. Trellex RollerSleeve is simple to install using an adapter and com-pressed air.
