After Mass the Tri-Parish will have an opportunity to have their throats

blessed through the intercession of St. Blaise by Deacon Gene Paul or Fr.

Kern. Here's a little information from The Book of Blessings on the blessing

of throats:

"Saint Blaise was the bishop of Sebaste in Armenia during the fourth century.

Very little is known about his life. According to various accounts he was a physician before becoming a bishop. His cult spread throughout the entire

Church in the Middle Ages because he was reputed to have miraculously cured a

little boy who nearly died because of a fishbone in his throat. From the eighth century he has been invoked on behalf of the sick, especially those afflicted with

illnesses of the throat."

This past week we have had the opportunity to celebrate being a Catholic School! Our students were able to talk about what they enjoyed about our Catholic School, as well as participating in many fun activities. Just to name a few: dressing up like superheroes, painting rocks, PJ day, mystery reader and an obstacle course. The first and second grade class has also been busying this month! In Math, we are learning to add with tens, and finding missing numbers. In Phonics, we are learning consonant digraphs and past, present and future verbs. In science, we are learning about life cycles, and how different animals and plants have different life cycles. In social studies, we have been learning goods and services and how we can trade them with other goods and services. In P.E., the K-6 grade students have had the fun opportunity to be able to roller skate the past two weeks! -Ms. Muench

O Lord Jesus Christ, open the eyes of my heart that I may hear your word, and

understand and do your will, for I am a sojourner upon the Earth. Hide not

your commandments from me, but open my eyes, that I may perceive the

wonders of your Law. Speak unto me the hidden and secret things of your

wisdom. On you do I set my hope, O my God, that you shall enlighten my mind

and understanding with the light of your knowledge; not only to cherish those

things which are written, but to do them; That in reading the lives and sayings

of the Saints I may not sin, but that such may serve for my restoration,

enlightenment and sanctification, for the salvation of my soul, and the

inheritance of life everlasting. For you are the enlightenment of those who lie

in darkness, and from you comes every good deed and every gift. ~ Amen.
