NEWS VANDERBILT LIFEFLIGHT PUTS NEW BK-117 INTO SERVICE Vanderbilt Lifeflight (Nashville, TN), operated by Omniflight Helicop- ters and the only Level 1 Trauma Cen- ter in the region, has added a new BK-117 B-1. The aircraft features what is popularly called '~he Entertainment Center," a custom designed, Omni- flight medical unit positioned between the rear facing attendant seats. Vanderbilt's unit is comprised of cabi- netry designed to hold the medica- tions needed inflight as well as pump and pulse oximetry equipment. NINTH DAUPHIN DELIVERED TO STATE OF MARYLAND Aerospadale Helicopter Corpora- tion is scheduled to deliver its ninth SA 365N1 Dauphin II to the State of Mary- land in September. A spokesman for the Aviation Division of the Maryland State Police said that the speed of the helicopter and the roominess of the cabin are some of the Dauphin's great- est assets. Since the inception of the Dauphin II, the police's response time has been reduced significantly, with arrival time at the scene now under 11 minutes and an average of 13-14 minutes to the trauma center.
