TRIM-SCRAP-WASTE

The collection and handling of trim-scrap-waste can be greatly improved by utilizing a volume reduction or compaction device. Larger pieces are commonly compacted in a horizontal baler. Fine dust and short fibers can be

process in a briquette press. Thermal compactors/melters may be suited for plastic trim. An often overlooked 4th option is the screw compactor. The large inlet and high compaction ratio screw/auger can handle a wide variety of trim-scrap-waste. The compacted product can be extruded into a plastic wrap for easy handling or into an open cart for further processing. The “screw compactor” combined with our air/material separator may be a perfect solution.

Explosion Risk & Protection In today’s manufacturing environment, the concern for possible fires and explosions is a major issue that should be addressed. The ibis G-3…m concept filter has been engineered to minimize the accumulation of combustible dust in the filter chamber, to remove all electrical components from the air stream and to incorporate other unique anti-sparking features. The incorporation of these design features minimizes or eliminates the need for explosion protection. However, each facility should perform a risk analysis and consult the corporate safety advisors. Special attention should be directed to available information such as NFPA 654 & 652 as well as other global directives.

Air Density: ACFM -vs- ICFM ACFM or SCFM (A=actual & S = standard) refers to the bulk density of air at sea level and at 15C / 59F degrees temperature. It is 1.225 Kg/M3 or 0.0765 lbs/ft3 . ICFM (I=inlet) = the bulk density considering the elevation above sea level (MSL) and the temperature and the conditions at the Inlet (I) of a vacuum device such as a fan, exhauster, pump, etc.

dust control, Don’,t Blow itCompressed air cleaning is dangerous and only relocates the dust. Use the ibis central vacuum system (CVS) for better housekeeping.
