Dear Parents,
I hope that all families enjoyed a relaxing long weekend. It was nice to have the extra day to spend time together.
Trinity Feast Day
We enjoyed a wonderful Feast Day last Friday. Thanks to Father Brendan and Kathryn Pepper for their organisation of the Mass, it was great to see so many parents and grandparents attend and celebrate with us. A big thanks to all of the parents who assisted with the cooking of the BBQ lunch for the children we very much appreciated the help.
It is a terrific to have Trinity Day each year as it provides us with the opportunity to celebrate our school and appreciate what we have to utilise and enjoy; fully refurbished buildings, Discovery Centre, Readman Hall, laptops, iPads, Chrome Books, robotics, audio-visual equipment, kiln (about to be installed and paid for by Parents and Friends), Library, Art, PE, LOTE, BAS LLI, Performing Arts, engaging classroom lessons, great play areas, learning adjustment support and playgroup are just some of the things we have. It must be stated, however, that the most important aspect of the school is the people that make it up. Our amazing multi-cultural student body that encompasses 508 students and over 40 nationalities who come from 352 supportive families, committees that operate solely for the benefit of the children, a dedicated and professional staff who regularly go over and above to provide the best they can for the students in our care and a very supportive Parish Priest and Parish.

TRINITY FEAST DAY Last Friday the school community acknowledged Trinity Feast Day with a special Mass celebrated by Fr Brendan. The students then participated in a range of activities in their classrooms to cele-brate being part of a wonderful school and further their understanding of the Trinity. A special shared lunch was cooked and delivered thanks to the wonderful parents and grandparents of the school. Without their continued support, days like these would not be possible. Much appreciated!!
Trinity School Prayer
God, our Creator and guide,
we are proud to be Australians. We thank you for the freedom
and opportunities we enjoy in this fair land.
We promise to respect the law, to love each other, and to care for our
environment. Together, we will build the future,
For the Glory of the Father and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Amen
THE MOST HOLY TRINITY
John 3:16-18 Reflection: Today the church celebrates the feast of the Holy Trinity. God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. One God. God so loved the world... ’ Today's Gos-pel tells us of the awesome extent of God's love for us and God's promise of eternal life. This reading gives us some clues about the Holy Trinity and the love of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit for all of us. Possible discussion: Think of all the wonderful things that God has made. How can we praise God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit for all that we have been given? God sent his Son Jesus because he loves us. How can we return that love?
We describe God as three persons in one (Holy Trinity)
God the Father – Who created the world and everything in it. Jesus taught us to call him our
“Father”, when we pray. He loves us so much that he sent his Son Jesus to be
our Saviour.
God the Son – Jesus was God made man, who was born as a human baby in Bethlehem. He came to teach and show us how to live as God’s children. He died on the
cross and rose from the dead so that all who follow him could share his eternal
life.
God the Holy Spirit- The Holy Spirit is our invisible friend, the unseen person of God who lives
with us and in us, helping us to live and love God’s children.

WHY DOES POPCORN POP?”
On Tuesday 13th June the Grade 3 students did an experiment to answer the question, “How does popcorn pop?” We gathered in our learning space and had the discussion of the reason as to Why popcorn pops? Grade 3 discovered that inside each kernel of popcorn is a tiny droplet of water. As the popcorn is heated, the water turns into steam, which builds pressure inside the kernel. When the kernel can no longer contain the pressure — POP! — the kernel explodes and a fluffy new piece of popcorn is born. Below are some photos and reflections of the students learning. The best part of course was eating the popcorn! Food for thought: ask your children why the odd kernel does not pop.
WHY DOES POPCORN POP?
Please see below for term 2.

TRINITY CAR PARK ETIQUETTE For greater safety and visibility, we are requesting that all
drivers reverse park into the marked bays.
Thank you all who use the pedestrian crossing area. You are demonstrating to your children correct road safety practices. Once children cross the pedestrian crossing into the parking area, they, for their safety, need to be placed into vehicles promptly. The car park is NOT a meeting area.
The lane around the edge of the car park (closest to the oval) are for vehicles waiting to pick children up from the Pick-up Zone ONLY.
The two parking bays closest to the office path are the PICK-UP ZONES. These are NO STANDING zones. I f your children are not ready to get into your car as you pull up to the pick-up zone, you must continue on and rejoin the end of the pick-up queue.
There is NO RIGHT TURN when exiting the car park. All vehicles must turn left for the safety of others and to maintain traffic flow.
THE GATES CLOSE AT 9.00am AND RE-OPEN AT 3.00pm. Occasionally they might re-open slightly later due to school activities.
Thank you for your patience and consideration of others.
