A Trizm Puzzle™ is a number-placing logic puzzle, but it’s played on a board of triangles and vivid colors instead of a grid of black and white boxes. Like Sudoku, the rules are simple and easy to learn—but without the familiar rows and columns, it’s always fresh and challenging. Think outside the box!

Check out the sample Trizm above. It’s made up of sixteen Small Triangles, the individual cells where you’ll be placing numbers. Some are right-side up, some are upside-down, some are colored, some are plain, some are fi lled already, but they’re all Small Triangles.

See the four Small Triangles sitting on the bottom edge of the Trizm? (One has a 2, two are blank, and the last has a 4.) The bottoms of those four Small Triangles make up the bottom of the Trizm. We call the Small Triangles whose edges make up an edge of a Trizm a Side.

The bold lines within a Trizm break it up into Inner Triangles—in our example, four Inner Triangles, each containing four Small Triangles.

There are also four Small Triangles in the red colored Crossbar, and four in the blue Crossbar. (Remember art class? Cells that are both red and blue turn purple!)

Four Small Triangles to a side, four Inner Triangles, and the Inner Triangles and Crossbars have four Small Triangles each. This sample Trizm is… Size 4, and uses the numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4.
