Troop 30 Los Altos, CA Troop 30 is a mid-size “Scout Led Troop” All of our activities and outings are planned and organized by the scouts themselves with adults only playing a supportive role. Today we have over 80 scouts in the troop. Wide variety of great outings every year In addition to the many fun things we do at regular troop meetings, we have many great outings every year. There are plenty of outings each month to choose from. You get to decide which ones are for you. (Check out a slide show at http://goo.gl/DJGgyL ) Outings include snow camping, backpacking, rafting, kayaking, canoeing, day hiking, service projects, orienteering, and many more. In addition there are merit badge activities throughout the year—including Rifles, Archery, Physical Fitness, Canoeing/ Kayaking, First Aid, and many, many more. All merit badge classes are taught by trained merit badge counselors. 56 years of scouting and our own troop room Our sponsoring organization, the Christ Episcopal Church at 1040 Border Road in Los Altos, provides us our own permanent meeting and storage facility (two large rooms) that is also a living museum of Troop 30 scouting dating back to our founding in 1957. Dedicated rooms save a lot of time and energy, since we don’t have to move our gear/equipment/ supplies in and out for every meeting and event. Get to know us this Fall Please see the next page for a summary of when Webelos can meet Troop 30. Our troop meetings are every Wednesday evening from 7:30 to 8:30 pm, with one Wednesday a month set aside for patrol meetings. (A patrol is equivalent to a Webelos den.) We have a special Webelos Night on November 6, 7:30-8:30 PM (Please RSVP). This is a great opportunity to learn more about our troop and scouting in general. Troop 30 representatives will also be at the Stanford District Webelos Open House on October 10th. If you can’t make any of these events we’d be happy to arrange other times for you to join us. Please contact [email protected] Find out more about us at http://troop30.us Or contact any one of our troop adult leaders (see next page) or someone you already know in the troop.
