Page 3: Tropical rain forest

The tropical rain forest is a forest of tall trees in a region of year-round warmth. An average of 50 to 260 inches (125 to 660 cm.) of rain falls yearly.

"Precipitation"

Page 4: Tropical rain forest

- Uniform Temperatures at about 72-93F (22-34C),

- Annual 80F (27C)- No apparent seasonal

changes in the rainforest. They almost have no seasons but “dry” and “wet” seasons which has more to do with the rainfall when earlier in the year there is less rainfall and later there is more. The “dry” and “wet” seasons vary upon year.

Negative

-Humans have cut down and destroyed more than half the world's rainforests for its timber, minerals and for place to settle in.

-Contributed to by overpopulation and overuse for agriculture.

-Destroying about 93,000 square miles a year.

increase in tourism has increased economic support, allowing more revenue to go into the protection of the habitat.

it has the potential to increase public appreciation of the environment and to spread awareness of environmental problems when it brings people into closer contact with the environment.
