Based upon the strength of your previous academic achievement, we feel confident that you have the potential to make outstanding contributions to the University community. Please note that Truman-funded scholarships apply toward tuition and on-campus room and board. Awards are renewed under the following requirements: 1. Students earning a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above while completing at least 24 hours of credit per academic year at Truman may renew all academic scholarship(s) by completing scholarship renewal service. Renewal of scholarships for students earning a cumulative Truman GPA below 3.25 is subject to available funding. Cumulative % of Original Truman GPA Scholarship Amount 3.25 or higher 100% 3.20-3.24 90% 3.10-3.19 80% 3.00-3.09 70% 2. Scholarship renewal service of 58 hours per semester (an average of 4 hours per week) begins in the 3rd semester. Renewing students explore TruPositions for opportunities to serve. Examples of service include research for a faculty member in your academic major, service to a University office, a special project related to an interest area or assistance in a community non- profit organization. 3. The service obligation is required of students receiving more than $3,000 per year ($1,500 per semester) in Truman scholarship(s). 4. Students opting not to perform the service obligation may renew one half of their approved scholarship amounts. 5. Scholarship renewal is determined at the end of the academic year based upon Truman GPA. Transfer hours are not credited toward scholarship renewal. 6. Scholarships can be renewed, but not lost, because of Truman summer coursework. GPA including summer coursework will be calculated following the second summer session. 7. Unless otherwise stated, scholarships awarded to beginning freshmen can be used for up to eight semesters. Length of potential scholarship eligibility for transfer students is as follows: Transfer Credit Eligibility 12-29.9 hours eight semesters 30-59.9 hours seven semesters 60-89.9 hours five semesters 90 hours or more three semesters 8. Students who increase their Truman GPA (either to renewal range or to a higher level of renewal percentage) after any term of enrollment, should contact the Financial Aid Office regarding potential change in their renewal status. 9. Students who do not meet renewal requirements should consult with the Financial Aid Office regarding potential eligibility for other forms of assistance. 10. Truman undergraduate scholarships are designed to provide assistance for completion of the initial baccalaureate degree program(s) and are applicable to tuition and on- campus room and meal plans. 11. Out-of-State TruMerit, Military Non-Resident Tuition Waiver, Non-Resident Tuition Grant and MSEP cannot be combined. Recipients of the Out-of-State TruMerit from IL, IN, KS, MN, MI, NE, ND, OH and WI who do not meet renewal requirements will subsequently receive the MSEP tuition discount. 12. The Midwest Student Exchange Program, Bulldog Legacy Scholarship, Live Learn Lead Scholarship and Military Non-Resident Tuition Waiver are renewable with satisfactory academic progress and continuous enrollment. Scholarship Renewal
