Business training is provided by the Entrepreneur
Business School.
It includes a 4-day Entrepreneur boot-camp ,
followed by 10 workshops spread throughout the year.
These sessions are based in different locations,
determined by the geography of the cohort.

Barry Johnston, Scottish Enterprise
Fellow 2002
Founder & Company Director,
Scotrenewables
Barry founded Orkney-based tidal
energy firm Scotrenewables in 2002.
He has now worked in renewable
energy for over 14 years with a
continued focus on the
commercialisation of his tidal
turbine design.
Recently his company received a €10M
(£7M) boost from the European
Commission’s Horizon2020 programme
and in May 2016, Scotrenewables
Recent successes of

Elasmogen, a next generation
therapeutic biologics company
which recently spun out of
Aberdeen University, won the
Converge Challenge in 2015. They
also won the ‘Perfect Pitch’
biotechnology award at the
BioTrinity 2016 conference and
secured £1.2million from Innovate
UK and Scottish Enterprise last
year.
MIME Technologies are based in
Inverness, and funded by RCUK,
Digital Health & Care Institute
and Highlands & Islands

• Interviews: early to mid-June
• Fellowships will begin in August
• Funded by the Scottish Government under their “Scotland Can Do” initiative
• Open to applicants based in Scotland
• Open to individuals who have incorporated a company with
up to £150k turnover or investment, or plan to incorporate a company
• Successful 20 fellows will get:
– EBS Ltd business training
– £25K living allowance/stipend into their company
– £20k Business Development Fund
– Access to networks of advisors and mentors
