HighlightsIn the celebration of our 20th Annual Convention we celebrate our membership. The membership that has expanded this annual event from what today would be considered a breakout session to the largest dedicated commercial used truck meeting in North America. The UTA Convention is more than networking and learning; it is an annual family gathering.

WEDNESDAY WELCOME RECEPTION This kickoff event is your opportu-nity to reconnect with old friends and make new contacts while enjoying food and drinks under the stars of the warm Palm Springs evening.

THURSDAY BUSINESS SESSIONS Thursday begins the business of our time together with a morning general session that returns last year’s popular OEM panel discussion, an economic review and the morning con-cludes with our keynote address by retired Navy S.E.A.L. David Rutherford. Our afternoon session will feature breakouts focusing on engine technol-ogies, the engine after treatment system, the engine inspection process and diagnostic tools that will assist dealer with the trade-in process.

FRIDAY NETWORKING EVENTS Nurturing and building new relationships is the back bone of the UTA Convention and your dealerships. As in years past attendees will have a variety of tours to participate in that are unique, fun and memorable. These tours fill up quickly so sign up asap! See pages 6 and 7 for details.

20TH ANNUAL AWARDS DINNER & CELEBRATION The UTA Convention closes with laughter and tears of joy as we gather over dinner to celebrate the year that was and acknowledge it has been twenty years since our first Convention at Howey-in-the-Hills, FL. The UTA Convention has grown from a few individuals to the largest used truck convention in the industry! The evening will be highlighted by the Marvin F. Gordon Lifetime Achievement Award presentation.

Keynote Speaker David R utherford, Former Navy SE ALDavid is living out his dream as an internationally known motivational personality. His goal is to reach 10 million people in 10 years with his Navy SEAL Moti-vational Training concepts titled Froglogic. David has quickly risen to become one of the most exciting and impactful keynote speakers in the world averaging over 60 events a year with the world’s top companies. His high energy, entertaining approach for inspiring individuals and teams to Forge Self-Confidence, Live The Team Life, Embrace Fear and Live With Purpose ignites audiences to live life to its fullest and begin performing at an elite level.

David served honorably for 8 years in the Naval Special Warfare community as a SEAL Student, Combat Paramedic, Operator, and Instructor. He participated in thousands of high-risk training evolu-tions and conducted clandestine operations in South East Asia, the Middle East, and South Asia. After leaving the SEAL Teams David con-tinued to hone his skills by serving as an International Training Expert for one of the country’s largest private security companies and for the US Government as a Security Protection Specialist. David has trained commandos and government employees around the world to push themselves past all limitations. David’s masterful ability to motivate inspires people from all walks of life to defeat the Negative Insurgency and achieve success in every environment imaginable.

David motivates people around the world as a top motivational speaker, author for kids and adults, radio show host, behavioral training specialist, YouTube personality, private performance coach, social media presence, charity volunteer and mentor for young men. His uniquely high-impact and emotional style of speaking, writing, and coaching helps all types of people gain a Navy SEAL style focus towards higher performance physically, mentally and spiritually. He combines his 20 years of exploring the human condition with over 70 years of UDT/SEAL operations, training doctrine and elite perfor-mance to create the Froglogic Concepts. In the past 9 years, David has reached almost 4 million people and is well on his way to reaching his personal goals.

Thursday PanelsEconomic PanelChris Kuehl - Armada Corporate IntelligenceMr. Kuehl is a frequent commentator for local and national media, a conference speaker, and author for various trade publications and is a founding partner of Armada Corporate Intelligence. Founded in 2000 Armada is half think tank and half strategy office. Armada provides economic forecasts, industry analysis, corporate intelligence and market assess-ment for clients in a variety of industries.

Steve Tam – ACT Research

Mr. Tam leads the used truck market effort, is a commercial vehicle market analyst and heads project and data-base management for ACT Research. ACT Research is a recognized leader in data, market analysis and forecasting for the commercial vehicle industry. ACT’s services are used by all major North American truck, trailer and drive-line manufacturers, industry suppliers’ banks and investment firms.

OEM Leadership PanelBuilding on the insights from 2018 and by popular demand the OEM Leadership Panel returns in 2019. OEM manufacturer leaders will be on hand to give insight to the direction of the commercial truck industry. The OEM representatives will raise the veil giving a glimpse as to what is next, what is working and the future challenges the industry will face.

20th Annual Awards DinnerJoin us in celebrating the 20th Annual Convention on Friday, November 8th. This will be the night to thank and remember those who conceived of having a convention that brought together the used truck industry for fellowship and business improvement. We’re rolling out the red carpet and, in addition to all the awards, there will be music and more networking fun. The attire for the evening is business casual.

Vendor ExpoThursday evening is the time for networking, education and communication with best in class industry service and product providers that will directly affect your bottom-line. In addition this is your chance for one-on-one discussions with OEM representatives to learn about emerging technologies that will impact resale value and performance. The Vendor Expo has continued to grow and another sell out is expected of this “must attend” annual event.

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway ToursThe world’s largest rotating tram car—travels over two-and-one-half miles along the breathtaking cliffs of Chino Canyon, transporting riders to the pristine wil-derness of the Mt.
