Two pubic measures will be on the ballot in College Community School District

1. Public Measure B: Approve the revenue purpose statement for spending the State-wide One Cent Sales tax – formerly the Local Option Sales Tax (SILO). This is not a new tax! It replaces the SILO one cent sales tax.

2. Public Measure C: Extends the current Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL) collected since 1983. This is not a new tax! It is an extension of an existing tax at its current rate.

Measure – B - Revenue Purpose Statement ◦ The proposed uses are identical to those approved

by district voters for SILO. Including: Property tax relief Building upgrades Site acquisition Technology Energy-efficiency initiatives.

◦ Estimated revenues 2012-13 approximately $3.3 Million per year

◦ Code does not allow use for regular daily operations (like utilities, textbooks, etc.) or salary expenses.

◦ $2 million each year for property tax relief◦ Paid off facility-related debt early to save interest◦ Baseball and softball field improvements◦ Point track, stadium, practice fields, tennis courts,

and walking trail (costs shared with PPEL).◦ Purchase of and improvement to property to

support youth activities while preparing the existing site for the next elementary school

Public Measure C - Extends the current Physical Plant and Equipment Levy collected at CCSD since 1983.

Not a new tax! Extension is at current rate – 67 cents per

thousand dollars of assessed valuation – same rate collected for the last 27 years.

It provides approximately $1.5 million annually

Equipment like buses and vans. Technology equipment - classroom and

infrastructure Carpet/tile/roof replacement Roadway and parking lot improvements Playground upgrades HVAC system upgrades and repairs Prairie Point track, stadium, practice fields, tennis

courts, and walking trail (costs shared with SILO) Code does not allow use for regular daily

operations (like utilities, textbooks, etc.) or salary expenses.
