Roadside erosion is one of the largest causes of pollution to surface

waters in northeastern New York. Bare and destabilized roadside

ditches contribute much of the sediment found in surface waters.

Furthermore, improperly constructed and maintained roadside ditches

increase maintenance costs and needs in the long run.

These field days will focus on new and improved techniques and

products to reduce erosion and sediment movement from municipal

roadsides.
