Welcome back Year 3-6, oh how we’ve missed you! The playground feels so much more full and active again. It has been wonderful hearing all about their experiences in Sydney and what a great time they all had, even Miss Pearce and Mr Small thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The students were great ambassadors for Tullibigeal Central School and always displayed the PBL values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilient.

Professional Learning This week Miss Fitzpatrick, a PBL External Coach (supporting PBL in schools other than her own), visited on Monday, from Parkes to work with the Staff and Students about PBL at TCS. She was busy with Miss Bell assisting with making plans for the next steps at TCS and sharing ideas and her experiences when she was a PBL Internal Coach (supporting PBL within the same school) like Miss Bell. Primary News

Last Friday afternoon saw the remaining students participate in Skipping for sport. It was fantastic to see all students getting in and giving it a go! It was obvious how much fun they were having as you could hear laughter and giggles throughout the playground. I even gave it a go! I was a bit nervous but the students were very encouraging and skipped along with me. Bus duty flew by as the High School students roped myself and Miss Goldthorpe into helping with the large skipping rope as they played ‘Miss a Loop’, where they continuously ran in, jumped, and ran out again one after the other. It was very impressive and intense! Ag Show Team Last Saturday was the Condobolin Show where Finlay, Grace, Braden, Tayah, Riley, Damon, Tahlia and Dylan paraded cattle under Miss Goldthorpe’s supervision. I would like to say thank you to Telea Imrie, Michelle Bendall, Darrin and Terrie Payne, Mandy Glasgow, Mel Crawford and Gerry Haase for all of their support and encouragement during this event and a HUGE thank you to Barry Dillon for carting the cows back to TCS Saturday afternoon. A special mention goes to Grace for receiving 1st

Place in her age group (14-16yrs) and also as Reserve Champion, 14 years and over. A special mention to Braden who received 2nd Place in the 11-13 years’ age group.

All students are to be commended on their efforts as they paraded really well on the day and for their commitment to the team.

This Saturday 3rd September a team of students will be off to Lake Cargelligo Show. Keep up the amazing work, you’re all doing a wonderful job! Enjoy your week!

3 – 6 Sydney Excursion

My favourite thing about Sydney was spending time at Narrabeen Sport and Recreation, because there were a lot of activities to do. My favourite activity was rock climbing and my least favourite thing was visiting Taronga Zoo, because it was raining all day.

Squirrel

Sydney was great fun! I thought the zoo wasn’t the best because it rained all day and some of the enclosures were closed, so we didn’t see all of the animals. My favourite part was Aladdin because it was funny, good and warm.

Damon

My favourite thing in Sydney was when we were walking around the city and I saw a mime. He looked fake, he had a mask on and his body was covered in silver spray paint. I gave him 50c; he gave me a high five and shook my hand. My second favourite thing was going to the football, Bulldogs vs. Cowboys. My third pick, would be laser tag, it was awesome fun. I also enjoyed when we went on the bush walk and built a fire and

made damper, it was cool. Lastly I liked when we done rock climbing. The worst thing was when we hopped off the ferry and I left my bag on it, with 73 dollars and my Ipad in it. It was scary but Miss Pearce ran and got my bag back luckily.

Jack Henschke

Last week we went to Sydney for our school excursion. I think my favourite parts of the trip were, watching Aladdin, playing the recorder at the Opera House and playing laser tag. On Thursday night we watched the Bulldogs and the Cowboys play. The Cowboys won, I was cheering for them.

Emma Bendall The best part of the excursion was going to Belmore Oval to watch the Bulldog and Cowboys. The funniest part of the excursion was when we were doing the high ropes and flying fox.

Dylan

My favourite part of the Sydney trip was going to the footy to watch Cowboys and Bulldogs, because I like NRL. I liked it because I got to buy a hat at the merchandise tent at half time.

Bill

The funniest part of the excursion was in Aladdin when Aladdin asked the Genie if he was really from the lamp and he replied with “no I’m from Wagga Wagga, of course I’m from the lamp come on.” The scariest part of the excursion was when we went on a ferry to Circular Quay from Manly and it was rocking a lot. Also when the recorder girls went to the 9D cinema and the roller coaster came of the track and a snake came up close to us and nearly bit us. Water and snow landed on us and bugs bit our legs, it was awesome

Tahlia

The best part of Sydney was the footy, because the Bulldogs played, they are my favourite team and NRL is my favourite sport. I got to see Josh Reynolds and Jonathan Thurston. I also got to buy a Bulldogs football at the merchandise tent at half time.

Blake

My favourite things about Sydney were the football and Aladdin. I loved the football because it was my first time at a live football match and my favourite team was playing (Cowboys). I was really excited. The best part about Aladdin was the funny jokes, beautiful music and amazing props.

Alyssa

My favourite part of our Sydney trip was going to see Aladdin, because the theatre seats were very comfortable and the Genie was so funny. It was a great musical!! It would have taken hours of hard work to master all of the dance moves, timing and the costumes were amazing. Riley

We left on Sunday to go to Sydney for our class excursion. When we got to Sydney we went to Narrabeen to settle into our accommodation. We did actives at Narrabeen like rock climbing bush walking, abseiling and cooking damper. We went into the city for two days; we went to Palm Beach and played laser tag.

Teleah

The thing I enjoyed the most on our Sydney excursion was playing laser skirmish. I liked it because we got to run round in a dark cool room. The scariest part of the excursion was the day we went on the ferry and it was rocking a lot, it felt like we were going to fall into the sea.

Elly

Last Sunday we went to Sydney. The first two days

we spent at Narrabeen. On Wednesday we went

into the city. First we went to Taronga Zoo, and then

we went to Madame Tussauds. After that we played

laser skirmish, it was good fun! Then we went to

Aladdin. On Thursday we went to Palm Beach, then

we went to Thursday night footy and we watched

North Queensland Cowboys play Bulldogs at their

home ground. The Bulldogs lost 24-16. My favourite

part of the trip was laser skirmish. The worst part

was when the Bulldogs lost and the funniest part

was Aladdin.

Year 11 Yearly Exams Please find attached the exam timetable for the Preliminary Yearly Exams which will run in Week 9 of this term. Best of luck to students who should be using these two weeks to complete study to optimise their marks in the last assessment before entering their HSC year.

NATIONAL TREE DAY

Thanks to all students involved in planting the veggies for National Tree Day on Wednesday! The gardens look great and a big thank you to Jeffery Toyota of Forbes for his donation of the veggie plants.

Feed wheat to feed the school chickens. If you have any can you please let the school know.

READING IN AUGUST

Research shows that family reading is

one of the best ways to grow a child’s

interest in the wonderful world of

books. We encourage students to read

with a family member for at least 10

minutes every day.

All primary students have been given a reading log to take part in reading in August. We encourage all students to become involved and get reading! Reading logs are to be returned by 5th September for you to receive a mystery prize. If you have any questions, please see Miss Hannah for further details.

Most positions stayed the same with Mark Bendall stepping up to be President again. Telea Imrie accepted the position as Vice President, Mandy stayed as Secretary and Jacqui as Treasurer with Michelle and new comer Hannah Frankel taking on the catering.

Pool will open earlier in October weather permitting. The opening date will be advertised in the newsletter along with being on our Facebook Page.

Pool Supervised Hours Will be revised as we are advertising for a supervisor and opening days/hours will be set around if we get anybody to apply. If nobody applies for the job it will most likely have to go back to voluntary run and this could mean that the pool isn’t open every day. More details to follow.

A child under the age of 10 must be supervised by an adult (18years and over).

To open the pool at any time out of supervised hours you will need to have your Current Senior First Aid, Current Bronze Medallion and be a member. The key can be collected from Mandy Glasgow or Louise Loftus. We hope to run a bronze medallion and first aid course in the future.

Memberships – Family $75 (Only to include school age children. Anyone who has left school is classified as a single.) Family with 2 children under 2 $55 Grandparents/Couples $55 Singles $30 Pensioners/ Senior Card Holder $15

Our aim is to cover Tullibigeal history, through your

stories, from the early 1900’s up to today.

We don’t want you to miss having your part of

Tullibigeal history to contribute, no matter how big or

how small.

If you need a questionnaire or want help with putting,

your story down you can contact Linda Fair or Janelle

Ireland.

To get all your information put together and ready for

publication in time for our celebrations in June 2017,

we will need to have your story by the end of June this

year.

Centenary

Celebration

I am trying to compile a time line for the Centenary Celebrations to be held on the June long weekend next year 2017. If anyone knows of any significant happenings in Tulli, could they please let me know asap. A few things that I have thought of are:

What year did the Railway Station close?

What year did the Telephone Exchange go automatic?

When was the house for the RSL bought to town?

Where did the house come from?

When did the NAB close the Tulli branch?

When was the new Fire Shed built?

When were the Water Tanks built?

Was this when the Lake water came to town?

What year did the BNA close? Could you either email [email protected] or ring me 69729125 or 042729320 if you know any of these things.

Thank you for your help Leanne

Opens every Friday at 3pm to 5.30pm.
