Overview of presentation reading applications in Logistics
• Involves an associate manually presenting a package to a scanner capturing code contents
• The camera is typically mounted above the operator in the reading station and looking down
• Codes can be on multiple sides of packages, so the associate must reposition the barcode so it is visible to the scanner
• Once a successful scan is obtained, an HMI typically directs the associate to place the parcel in a specific box, tote or other bin for further sorting

Common challenges faced during run-time operation

• Placing the code in the right position for reading, especially for heavy or awkward parcel shapes
• Knowing when all codes have been read, and if not, then why not e.g., code damage, printing issues…
• Notifying the associate if they read the wrong code or the code has the wrong contents
• Modify the focus of the device – or other settings such as lighting – if the application changes
