FOODS

Turkish Architecture • The earliest form of the Ottoman mosque

consisted of a single prayer hall covered by a hemispheric dome, with a covered porch minaret outside.

• The Konak (mansion house) consisted of wooden structure built on a foundation of stone and brick to withstand the cold Anatolian winter. The ground floor contained granaries, stables and storage areas.
