ORCHARD VALLEY GARDEN
If you walk the linear trail at High Street in Southington, you will see the latest project by Southington’s Orchard Valley Garden Club.
A pollinator garden has been planted along the trail to provide nectar and host plants for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. The project began in 2016 with the removal of weeds and invasive plants. Then pollinator friendly native plants donated by garden club mem-bers were planted and the area was mulched. The club maintains the garden by weeding and watering during dry spells.

CENTER CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH
Center Congregational Church recently shared a worship service with a Mus-lim congregation affiliated with Anjuman-E-Badri in New York City, N.Y., that is part of the Dawoodi Bohra Community. Dr. Akbar Ab-
bas, a biomedical engineer, delivered the sermon, fol-lowed by sharing food pre-pared by members of the visiting congregation and a question and answer pe-riod. This congregation had used the facilities at Center
Church during Ramadan for prayer and to break the fast. It was a very success-ful sharing of different faith
traditions and an oppor-tunity to learn from each other.
BALLROOM RIBBON CUT
The MidState Chamber of Commerce was delighted to take part in a ribbon cutting to celebrate the grand opening of Silver City Ballroom, Meriden’s newest downtown event venue. A great crowd, close to 75 peo-ple, shared in the celebration including Chamber mem-bers, City Councilors and other City dignitaries.

TURN TO MEDon’t run away from the beautiful, the richness,
the miracle of “LOVE” but towards it.
LOVE is opened-LOVE returned!
LOVE is a sanctuary.....
LOVE is a smile....
Hearten “LOVE” is step-ping in right direction....
When “steamed-up” anger passes, finding mending “hearts”,
“LOVE” is still there!
LOVE is more than a col-lection of moments...
The “smile” I love to see-you’re happy with me;
Knowing what your feeling;
knowing what to say and what not to say;
knowing when you need me to listen;
knowing, recognizing the times when nothing needs to be said;
wishing that “I love you”
and for you to “tell me-” that is enough!
Wishing-spending our love on earth without you,
sharing it with me,
realizing we can get through anything together!
With solid strong feelings: “I love you”!
Please turn to me....
Please don’t retreat...
Let me turn to you.
Remembering through it all: “I love you”!

TD BANK PARTNERS WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY As part of its “Bring Change” campaign, the local TD Bank served as a designated hub to support the Boys and Girls Club of Meriden. TD Bank in-vited people to participate in a community fundraiser event to support the organization.
They raised $5,507.08 in do-nations for the organization’s Food for Thought Program. In addition to the monetary dona-tions, TD Bank collected over four cases of canned goods as well as some other non-perish-able items for this community’s benefit.
TD’s Bring Change program supports people and organi-zations in communities across the bank’s footprint that are making a meaningful, local dif-ference. The program focuses on issues that affect low and moderate income areas, as well as homelessness, food short-ages and services for those with special needs.
A separate grant contribution was also provided through the TD Charitable Foundation, the char-itable giving arm of TD Bank, Ameri-ca’s Most Convenient Bank®.
The Boys and Girls Club of Meriden has supported local youth to help them grow into productive, caring
and responsible adults for over 100 years. At the Boys and Girls Club of Meriden, trained youth development professionals and volunteers work hard to create a positive place for lo-cal children to learn and grow.
All funds from TD Bank’s Bring
Change campaign will go directly to-ward the Boys and Girls Club of Me-riden’s efforts to continue providing support and programming to all of the area’s children.
