We join thousands of other Christians across the country as we lift up our voices with hungry people.
Through prayers for hungry people and for our nation’s leaders, we commit ourselves to the fight against hunger and poverty in our country and around the world.

www.bread.orgNearly 16,000 children die every day from hunger-related causes. That’s one child every five seconds.
In developing nations, one out of four people lives in extreme poverty—on less than $1.25 a day.
In the United States, one in five children lives in a family that struggles to put food on the table.
The Face of Hungerin a World of Plenty

Charity alone is simply not a realistic solution.
Essential federal nutrition assistance programs must be protected and improved.
These programs are the country’s true first line ofdefense against hunger.
Hunger is a Fixable Problem

What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him?
If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
