The Year Was 1923... Calvin Coolidge was President of the United States. While theTwenties roared, our founder, John Barry, was quietly creating what would becomeAtlantic Track & Turnout Co. He received word from the “CINCINNATI” Frog & Switch Co.that “...effective November 1, 1923, and until further notice, we would be pleased tohave you solicit the trade in the New York City district.” Our first order was received inJanuary 1924.

New Rail Atlantic Track inventories every type of ASCE, AREA, ARA-A, ARA-Band CR rail section that is presently produced throughout the world. Each piece ofnew rail in our inventory is documented by a mill certificate or a test report. We stockboth standard and premium rail grades as well as rails with blank ends for welding ordrilled ends for mechanical joints.

Relay Rail Our inventory of relay rail changes according to availability. Atlantic Trackcan supply rails and matching accessories to meet any specification. Normal inventory

consists of rail 140-lb per yard through60-lb per yard. All of our relay rail isguaranteed to be straight, uniform inheight and drilling and completelysuitable for use in any top-gradetrack system.

Joint Bars Six-hole joint barsare provided for all new tee railsections over 100-lb per yard. Newrail 100-lb per yard and less isfurnished with four-hole joint bars.

All relay rail is supplied with matchingjoint bars.

Compromise Joints are used when joining two different rail sections together.While there are many different combinations possible, Atlantic Track keeps a supply of bothnew and used joints in stock.

Tie Plates fastenthe rail to the tie andmaintain gage and align-ment of rails in track. Newdouble shoulder tie platesare available for 5-1/2inch and 6 inch base railand are manufacturedaccording to AREA specifi-cations. Used doubleshoulder tie plates can besupplied to fit most railbases. New single shouldertie plates are no longeravailable, but they can befurnished as used and willfit any rail section.

New and Reconditioned Turnouts The basic parts of a turnout are aswitch, a frog, guard rails (when required) and a switch stand. This is true of any designturnouts, whether new or reconditioned. When specified, Atlantic Track will supply allstock, closure and turnout rails.

New turnouts are required for mainline use on class one railroads. For allother applications, our reconditionedturnouts can be installed withoutsacrificing safety or durability. Stockswitches are packaged in order tominimize loss of materials in shipment.Stock frogs are solid manganese,self-guarded.

Atlantic Track & Turnout Co. does notrebuild worn-out used switch materialfor temporary service. Most of ourmaterial is purchased from majorrailroads who generate surplusturnouts through main line upgradingor abandonment of unused track.Practically 100% of our relay frogand switch material was manufacturedto conform to class one railroad orAREA specifications.

Atlantic Track starts with the finestrelay frog and switch material availableand restores it to like-newcondition by adheringto original engineeringspecifications.

We also keep a com-plete inventory of newturnout componentssuch as switch stands,switch points, plates,braces and switch rods.Our sales departmentcanhelp you find thosehard-to-find or longlead-time items.

Other Products

Ties Atlantic Track stocks both new andused treated railroad ties. Ties are availablein 6 inch and 7 inch widths and in variousgrades.

Timbers can be supplied in individuallengths or as pre-packaged sets. Our new orused timbers can ship separately or alongwith your turnouts to provide you with a com-plete package.

Spikes are produced from hot rolled steelbars and are shipped in 200-lb kegs. AtlanticTrack also maintains a complete inventory of screw spikes, drive spikes and boat spikes.

Bolts Tee rail requires standard button-head, oval-neck track bolts with heavy squareor hex nuts. Lockwashers are furnished on request.

Derails are available to suit your exact application whether you require double end orsingle end, sliding or hinged, portable or permanent. Warning signs and operating standscan be supplied to complete any derail.

Bumping Posts Yards requirebumping posts at the ends of thetrack to provide a stop for cars. TheAN3 bumping post is economical,strong and is ideal for most generalservice applications. Bumping postscan be shipped from stock.

Track Panels provide a quickand economical way to replacetracks in busy, high-volume areas.Panels can be built with eithernew or relay rail to match yourtrack conditions.
