This  past  year  I  watched  Turquoise  grow  so  much  and  from  talking  to  Jessica  and  hearing  about  the  big  plans  you  have  in  store  I  know  that  this  next  year  will  be  no  different.  I  am  so  excited  to  see  how  you  grow  as  a  division  and  how  you  grow  individually  as  schools.  I  can’t  wait  to  hear  all  the  Turquoise  cheers  at  DCON  next  year. While  you  are  working  on  that  I  will  be  working  on  making  this  District  the  strongest  it  ever  has  been  through  reten on  of  membership,  manuals  and  programs  to  help  educate,  transparency  and  much  more! And  finally,  I’ll  tell  you  what  I  told  my  District  Board  a  while  ago:  2012-2013  KIWIN’S,  make  sure  you  look  good  in  pictures,  because  we  are  about  to  be  remembered  forever.  With  great  growth  comes  growing  pains  but  you’ll  make  it  through  every  challenge  this  year,  and  I  am  here  to  help!  Let  me  know  if  you  need  absolutely  anything  at  any me.  I’m  here  to  serve  you! Hey everyone! I am thrilled to announce that your 2012-2013 District Board “Dream Team” has already come up with the 2013 DCON THEME! I cannot reveal much but I promise you that your 2013 DCON experience will be phenomenal. In the next few weeks, we will launch the DCON Theme Reveal Video courtesy of your new Convention Chair, Edward Kim, from Crystal Division on both the FB Turquoise Division page and Turquoise Division website. CAN’T WAIT FOR YOU GUYS TO FIND OUT!

THE COUNTDOWN TO DCON BEGINS!

From May 25-27, seventeen members of your KIWIN’S District Board gathered at the Rancho Cucamonga KIWIN”S District Office to go over and plan for the 2012-2013 KIWIN’S year! The three day bonanza consisted of long nights , hours of presentations, a deluge of information and advice on how to make KIWIN’S have the best year yet, and of course, lots of DB bonding time. So much was accomplished and I assure you that the 2012-2013 year will be fantastic.

Some decisions that were made include:

Major Emphasis: Live 2 Learn

Minor Emphasis: PTP (Pediatric Trauma Program)

District Emphasis: Project ELIMINATE

For the first time ever, we will not be having a District Project or a Governor’s Project. We will now gear our attention to our major, minor and district emphases so that we will be able to actively promote such worthy causes and give attention to each one instead of having to worry about meeting all five projects as we have done in past years.

May Board also marked a change in forms that will be submitted to the District Your Bulletin Editor, Ashley Lee & District Secretary, Megan McKnelly, have both worked extremely hard on these new ARF & MRF forms that will be implemented as of June 2012. I will go over these forms in more detail at my Divisional OTC but if you have questions about the new forms, email Ashley Lee at [email protected] or Megan McKnelly at [email protected].

THANKS TO ALL WHO PARTICIPATED IN “STAMPING OUT HUNGER!” YOU GUYS MAKE THE DIFFERENCE!

Hunger threatens sixteen percent of all Americans today. That means 1 in 5 children under the age of eighteen plus 4 million seniors go to bed uncertain of

where their next meal may be coming from. The Letter Carrier’s Drive aims to alleviate such devastating hunger. Each year, the second Saturday in May is a day when all citizens have an opportunity, with the help of their letter carrier, to easily donate food to needy families in their community. The drive, the largest one-day food-collection event in the nation, has been a success every year, but particularly staggering, in 2012.

Camarillo KIWIN’S is proud to have lend a helping hand and will continue to support the annual drive.
